The dialogue system is terrible.

Instead of actually displaying the entire sentence allowing the player to judge for themselves what is the right sentence to say it's all down to "compliment, insulting remark, speech check, no response."

Obviously no one is going to pick "insulting remark" now.

If only it were like this.

The only way the vanilla dialogue system would make sense is if it were timed like in Telltale's walking dead game where you are given like 20 seconds to decide what to say on the spot. Since you are not timed it doesn't matter in Fallout 4.

I sure mods will come out that show the full responses.

raven that's a mod that shows the full response

there already are

id like a return to fallout 1 and 2 dialogue but that wouldve forgeted up the voice acting thing

i would rather nobody had voiced dialogue at all and instead we got either banjo kazooie ga-hU-HU-h-UH-h sounds or straightforward snes rpg boops

If the 4 choice dialogue system were timed like Telltale's walking dead game then it would be a much better more plausible system forcing you to make choices really quick.

Most of the time when a dialogue item includes "you", "your", etc, it's ambiguous as to whether that refers to the player or the person the player is talking to
Like because of that I chose a dialogue option once where I thought I was being nice but ended up being a jackass

It can get annoying

It doesn't matter what answer you pick. The NPC is always going to give a quick response to that, if they even acknowledge your choice at all, and then they give you a response they would have given regardless of what you've said to them.

1.Chose a negative answer

2.NPC tells you you are a richard then says what he would say if you responded positively.

There is no diplomacy in this game. Just go here, kill that.

Why can't I solve these settlers problems through speech? Why do I have to kill everything? Why can't I convince the entire settlement to help me, like what I had to do in Goodsprings NV to kill the powder gangers?

I solved numerous quests in NV without violence.

the core mechanic of the game is gun play though. I understand where you're coming from here, I feel like they didn't really give you much option for choice when it comes to dialog. You're only real choices are for which group you want to support. However to hope to play this game peacefully without violence is almost silly

I wish this game had brotherhood outcasts.

Then it's more of a shooter and less of an RPG. They already did cut out some RPG skills, they might as well cut out every role play element and just make it a full blown shooter at this point.

I play DOOM to shoot. I play Fallout to explore and roleplay.

Can someone calculate what percentage of the last 100 pages were made up of Tonys posts

Can someone calculate what percentage of the last 100 pages were made up of Tonys posts
And what percentage of those posts are petty and invalid "criticisms" of the game?
