Well considering how you never played New Vegas and are still trying to prove me wrong I guess I have to bring it up for you.

fair enough

I wasn't aware of the fact that firing a Fat Man gave radiation

They shoot nuclear bombs.

They shoot nuclear bombs.
But nukes don't just emit radiation, it doesn't get released until they explode.

You can't get radiation from the mini nuke until after it explodes and then you walk into or near the cloud.

Have you even played Fallout 4 or are you messing with me?

Well yeah but anyone with a brain knows not to walk into a nuclear blast

I meant radiation literally right when it is leaving the gun(?)

The blast shield on Esther is for protection AFTER the mini nuke explodes and you happen to be too close to the explosion.

are you messing with me?

In Fallout 4 you could have a fatman that has increased damage based on how much addictions you have to drugs. ?????
I don't think that's possible.
While that is a possible legendary effect, and the fatman can be legendary, i don't think it can have that particular effect.
Not every weapon can have every legendary effect, and i don't think the fatman can have the junkie effect.
Or the never-ending effect, for that matter.

Now when you have stupid ass magic attacks that don't make sense and your only explanation for it is "magic" that does not make good gameplay. It  has to be plausible.

Well then, i don't understand why you have such a problem with Bethesda removing skills from the game. "They were unrealistic! By removing them, they made the gameplay better!"
Suspension of disbelief is a thing. If they removed things like legendary weapons and perks (which you seem to be saying they should), they'd make the gameplay worse, not better. They shouldn't prioritize making the game realistic over making it fun.

How would a simple shield protect from walking into stagnate radiation? Radiation is a gas and it can't be forced out of somewhere.

Are you dense? Because that is an actual effect.

If I practiced with a real gun in real life I would eventually get better at using it.

It's the same thing as upgrading your gun skills in a game. So you can shoot faster, reload faster and be more accurate.

plad101 also is correct on the comment he chose to answer.

I think you're purposely trying to seem ignorant now. You know I'm talking about the explosion blast.

are you messing with me?

I know.
But, as i just said, i don't think specifically the fat man weapon type can have that effect.
Some weapons in Fallout 4 can't have certain legendary effects.
For example, rocket launchers cannot be explosive. If the player uses a mod to make them explosive, they shoot explosive bullets instead of rockets.

If you practiced with a gun in real life, would the bullets start doing more damage, up to twice the regular amount?
They do in New Vegas.

They do in New Vegas.
They do in FO4 as well with the gun perks?

I know.

But ugh, it can have that effect and that has been stated several times before.

They do in New Vegas.

They didn't in Fallout 1, 2 and tactics. This didn't start becoming a trend until Bethesda added damage in Fallout 3.

NV was forced to include damage instead of just accuracy. I don't blame NV for that. Either way the increase in damage is a slow and steady increase. It is not an instant 20% increase like in Fallout 4.

It is an RPG game after all you could at least roleplay and pretend you are so good at guns that you know where to aim for the vitals to cause more damage now.

Those drug addict legendary weapons can affect any gun, ranged or melee. Explosive or no.

It should have been just melee only then at least I could pretend there are drugs strapped on the melee weapon which instantly increases my damage. Even the most ridiculous effect I can at least pretend has some plausible explanation.

I can't pretend with a junkie fatman. Immersion for me is just broken.
