That's the point. Fallout 3 and New Vegas were really dull and grey so they made the sequel slightly more colorful.

I'm not talking about the color.

The entire game in general just looks like a loving cartoon. Even the skeleton models look fake.

i particularly liked the skeletons

They look bad compared to Fallout 3 skeletons.

They look like fake props.

- m14 + m14 "retexture" (not "improved" textures) + m14 resized scopes
 - wh-mk22 hmg
 - ak-2047
 - usp .45 + worn retexture
 - the weapons mods mod is great aside from the fact that it gives the battle rifle annoyingly op receivers that would make the m14 obsolete
 - see-through combat scopes is amazing
 - any mod that boosts hunting rifle & minigun damage may be worth a download

thanks for the suggestions, I'll look through them and see which ones I like

I've actually had the Weapon Balance Overhaul since around the time it came out, so the hunting rifle and (I think to a lesser extent) the minigun are taken care of

Playing Survival mode, I finally got over my massive steel shortage, but now I have the typical shortages of adhesive and aluminum. forget.
Farms are a life saver for adhesive, only plant corn, tato, and mutfruit to maximize efficiency
You also need plenty of purified water, so you should set up a settlement with access to standing water. Sanctuary is quite good for this, with it's river.
Have a low population, with several large water pumps, and ample defense.

The excess water will be bottled as purified water, which you can use for making adhesive, or sell it for decent money.

does anyone know a good compromise, mods included, for not doing fast travel but not also having to trek through the same area 1,000 times to bring back excess equipment and junk? I tried to do it where hauling stuff home was the one exception to the rule, but once I realized that was pretty much the only thing I ever really needed fast travel for it made having the rule in the first place kind of pointless if I still used it 80% of the time anyway

I don't want to do something like weightless junk either because then I'd just never go home at all

Vertibirds or Teleporting via Institute are one way.
But they have their own issues, and may not be possible for you.

There is a mod that I can't remember the name of that allows crafting of vehicles in settlements that allow fast travel to other settlements. They also require fuel.

I just want the GECK to be released so I can start seeing some dope content being made

try only fast traveling to and from populated settlements. that way you have to get to a fast travel point to do it

found it, looks like a good solution

maybe it'll force me to actually do something with settlements this time around, too

I actually have the castle right now generating 150 water.

So that's disappointing. If you have rank 3 of the Intimidation perk, as you may know, you can pacify humans, and force them to fight, as well as to follow you, and even trade items with you.

What you unfortunately can't do however, is tell a pacified raider to get out of their power armour.

I just came to defend the Slog, to find it being attacked by a group of raiders, 3 of whom were in power armour. I really wanted to get at least one of them out of the frame, so that I could leave it for the people in the slog as a defensive item. No real benefit to that, I just fancied doing it.

But despite finally getting one of them to be pacified, and not killed by all the other explosions going on, I couldn't get them out of the frame.
Nor could I force them out by pickpocketing their fusion core.
And I wasn't even having luck in shooting the fusion cores out of them. Each time the cores went critical they stayed inside the armour, either dying in the explosion, or carrying on at a crawl.

dear fallout 4 gods.
stop shorting me out on everyday items like STEEL and COPPER

The Unofficial Fallout 4 Patch just came out the other day by the way, probably worth it even if you don't normally play with mods

what exactly is using so much steel? I tend to be drowning in it after a few hours because it's everywhere, though I don't do much with settlements like I imagine you need to for survival mode
