contrary to popular belief, heavyweights seem to be able to out last her in the damage department. if you can play ganondorf, dk, charizard, ike, and even ddd, you should be able escape the first side-b into her stuffty chain. also most if not all of those characters have some form or move that has a persistent lasting hitbox like ddd's nair and ike's fair that make it hard for her to approach because she will get hit herself.

just play someone with a frame one move that kills at low-high percents on the top of the stage while she's bringing you up in-between moves (rest, mac's up-b, etc.)

also bayo has a frame 1 airdodge (1-4ish? is bat within, otherwise airdodge)

so anyone see ESAM being a richard about smash summit 2

so anyone see ESAM being a richard about smash summit 2
no

i dont even really know/follow ESAM

yes, essentially he's making a stink because people don't want someone who's mainly a sm4sh player going to summit
which is understandable considering summit is like the most prestigious melee tournament ever for melee players who have a history and great skill with the game
not docking esam but he's just not on the level of people going to summit

also he and other smash 4 community members like omni are really taking this debacle as a reason to stuff on the melee community as a whole

as though esam himself isn't being a richardboi about this, as though there isn't legitimate trouble with the way esam is behaving

no

i dont even really know/follow ESAM

as i understand it:

  • ESAM makes a tweet that he doesn't care about Melee and people should vote for Wobbles instead.
  • Later, he changes his mind and asks his fans to vote him in.
  • People are pretty upset that this guy that just said he didn't care about Melee and is only rank 81 on MIOM rankings is going to take the spot of other players (that are kinda way better than him).
  • Then, ESAM writes this 3000-word rant on why he should be accepted to the Summit in place of those other, better players. In it, he talks about how he is all the good things he's done like three or four times, implies that reasons for not wanting him in the Summit are invalid because he is a "good person", and even calls himself "kinda godlike"! And again with the "no valid reason to hate me" thing. Are you stuffting me?
  • He says that the Summit would help him practice because he does reasonably well despite not getting much top-level practice, never mind the fact that there are other top players who get less such opportunities than him and are way better. Not to mention that the Summit is for super high-level players...
  • Also in this post, he says his tweet that he doesn't care about Melee was a move to get the "incredibly hateful, spiteful, and overall stuffty" online Melee community off his back. Then he says that we should use our votes to get someone we think is better in, and that it's totally fair, despite the Melee community having to split their votes among several great players while ESAM has a large portion of the Smash 4 fanbase behind his back.
  • He ends by claiming he could beat a bunch of players who are better than him (including PewPewU, DruggedFox, The Moon, HugS, Duck, and Hax), and talking about his tournament rankings. Also he is apparently better than "99.9999% of people hating on [him]", as if that even mattered.
  • The whole post is littered with jabs against the Melee community and how "toxic" it is, and Melee players not liking Smash 4 players who play Melee even though they like Melee players who play Smash 4 (spoilers: because they actually practice and play the game and don't make tweets that they don't care about it).
