Author Topic: Most annoying and fustrating NPCs in games  (Read 6097 times)

Another semi-related thing: when the companion/follower/escort AI says to move up the entire time in a fight where if you even try moving you'll get killed. Like, at what point in development did that seem like a good idea

Every single one that's on your side that stays in a door way that you need to go through.

when you are supposed to follow an NPC and they walk slower than you so you have to stop moving every few seconds

This might not be quite an NPC thing, but every time when an enemy runs right in my face and I shoot them, my loving aim goes apestuff and all of my projectiles suddenly go into a random direction and completely missing the loving starfish that's millimeters in front of my gun's barrel.

the ais in NFS Most Wanted

so much rubber banding

Has anybody thought of the ones that are supposed to be frustrating?

RE4's ASHLEY AAAAAAAAAAAAAHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHH HHH

RE4's ASHLEY AAAAAAAAAAAAAHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHH HHH
I've never really found Ashley to be a problem in any of the times I played RE4.

EDIT:also tf2 medic bots

ALL the NPCs in GTA V.

Everyone is apparently a psychic terminator with the ability to pistol snipe you out of a plane or sports car going at the speed of light. When the NPCs aren't being psychic terminators, they're being easily pissed off douchebags that call the cops on you or beat your ass for standing still near them for 10 or so seconds. NPCs also appear to have rubberband AI that allows them to ram a supercar off the road despite having a inferior vehicle.

All of this.

I remember the first time I played GTA 5.  I accidentally tapped some gang member's car and within milliseconds, every single one loving blew me away with pin point accuracy.

XCOM

Enough said.

Is it the soldiers that can't shoot for stuff(technically not NPCs?) The braindead civilians in Terror Missions that just squat right there and wait for a Chryssalid to zombify them? The crack shot aliens?
