Author Topic: Creating a FULL LENGTH Movie in Blockland!  (Read 19833 times)

Wow, thanks!

You should look at this. It's a blockland movie, and was created by one of the very few groups that succeeded in the task. A lot of the scenes were done in blender, to accomplish effects that were impossible on blockland. You'll probably want to get an animator if you're planning on doing anything super-intensive (I doubt there would be much with a ww1 film, since there are no spaceships like in the one mentioned above. It also heavily takes advantage of greenscreen environments.

This. Block Eye is one of my favorite blockland short creators. They go beyond the limits of blockland, as they animate things that you cannot do in blockland. This is why I mentioned the animations in blockland and stuff.
Sorry but the best screenwriter in the world would have a hard time keeping me captivated without acting talent. It sounds like you want to make it that length so that it is *that* length, more than you have a story that will take that length of time to be told through BL.

Not much extraordinary animation worthy things happened in WWI, but I get your point. I will be animating things like bullet times, but not much other than that.

Block is gone now. Sadly.
(Also I did that thing for nothing ;-;)
Nevermind

This is the final product. The white lines are gone, new title. Rectangles were made to be more textured.

Thanks a lot, this is very nice.

Do you have experience in making any videos at all?

Quite a bit, I've been making Blockland videos for 2 years, most of those videos never made it to the internet though. I've also been taking courses in cinematography for the past 3 months.

How come?

How come?
Didn't make a channel to post them to, and when I switched computers (4 months ago) I lost all hard drives. I didnt exactly loose them, I just didn't care for them.

I could try my hand at some things, creating titles or logos, spicing up photos or even trying my hand at editing a short clip. Could you PM me things that you could have me do? Warning, I am very busy and you shouldn't 100% count on me.

Adding onto that my main computer just broke so it might even be slower to get things done.

Any help is much appreciated, are you up for any short building projects? I have one scheduled for Monday, if your interested I'll PM you the details.

the trailer will be coming soon

I finished making a mod from scratch that'll definitely aid the movie-making process. The features include placing down multiple cameras, that you can easily switch through with the emote hotkeys. This allows you to have multiple shots of the same scene, and not have to move the default player camera around a bunch to get different perspectives. Also, you can create 'dummy' actors that just stay there and don't move, to make a shot seem more crowded than it actually is without using actors. There's also a simple role system, and depending on your role you get a clan prefix ("Director", "MainCharacterName", "Programmer"). I also made an instruction system of sorts, so you can easily tell the actors what to do and when during the filming of a shot. For example, you can set your first instruction to "Riddler, walk towards Blue Meanie" and the second to "Riddler, full stop." When you press the button once, a chat message pops up to all the actors telling "Riddler, walk towards Blue Meanie." Then, when the Riddler actor is in just the right place, press the button again and it'll say "Riddler, full stop." This saves you time that would otherwise be spent typing to actors when your filming mid-shot.

Should I release it publically?
