Also I'm still debating whether to get DDR4 it's about double what I originally intended But I understand that it's something to invest in and DDR3 Might be outdated soon. I'm not really digging reference card as well, will it over heat?
i dunno if you've seen this yet, but here's a video with some benchmarks of ddr3 vs ddr4 at different clock speeds.

Thanks for the video. After watching it I don't think the extra 5-8 fps is worth the amount of money you have to put into a compatible board and CPU I'm just not really buying it.

OH WELL I can upgrade later

wel you can't really upgrade your RAM type without changing your motherboard and your cpu

is your power supply certified for that processor and video card?
it also seems too low, I would go for 600 - 700

wat, i'm updating the op again I did a lot of revisions '

Also does anyone know what the difference between a 4770k and a 4790? The 4790 is a bit cheaper and higher performance but why the price gap?

I decided to put together a build of my own:
http://pcpartpicker.com/user/Chipskate/saved/8h3Qzy
CPU: the 4790K is cheaper and runs cooler than the 4770K, so there's no reason not to get it.
CPU cooler: the Noctua NH-D15 performs about the same as the H100i, but should be a bit quieter since its heatsink is less restrictive than the H100s radiator. It's also a bit cheaper, which is a nice bonus.
Boot/games SSD: 250GB really isn't enough for games so I went with a 500GB SSD instead.
Hard drive: 4k video takes up a huge amount of space and since I don't know if you have any external storage I went with a 4TB drive instead
Case: The Fractal Design Define R5 has better airflow than the H440 and is about the same price.
Video card: An aftermarket cooler makes the GPU run cooler than reference, and while it does blow hot air into the case instead of out the back, the airflow of the case itself should take care of the extra heat.
Power supply: There's no need to get anything more powerful than the 550W EVGA you've already picked out, even if you're going to overclock.

That's a nice build, digging the extra memory and I'm getting a higher powersupply so I have room to upgrade later if I decide to sli if i'm loving drunk one day.

UPDATE: I'm no longer going with 4k I'm not 100% on it though but I'll probably be getting the 21:9 LG 34UM95

I'll probably get better performance too since it's a 1440p instead of 4k

Um, that power supply is not enough for two 980tis, you'll need something more powerful for that. It's good enough for one card, though.

and if he gets a fan it may spin out of control, ricocheting out of his case bouncing around till it slits his throat

he will be more than fine with liquid cooling; there are warranties for a reason. Don't strike fear into him needlessly
just making sure he's a bit more careful about putting it together
a fan spinning out of control is possible, but much more unlikely
besides, a leak in his computer may be just as dangerous and he could drown

I ment for more ram I really really doubt i'm gonna put this in SLI I'm a poor college student

Rip helicopter fan through my neck

update the op Does anyone know any guides to building a computer like bios etc
BIOS are built onto a non volatile (Does not change after power is shut down) ROM chip on the Mobo, and you shouldnt edit it unless you know what your doing
If your Installing an OS or changing the boot order, then be careful with what you change
Also, most Mobos also have Overclocking on their BIOs settings, but do not enable it unless you have adequate cooling (Stock coolers are not recommended).
Most average PC users can go without having to worry about the BIOS

And also, if you happen to be updating your BIOS, make sure its not stormy or such, because if power is lost during the update, you might corrupt the ROM chip

Alright i'm just not gonna mess with it at all. I'm surprised people are still voting for the 4k monitor, should I upload some pics of the monitors?
