2008-09:
My dad found Blockland. I don't even know where we found it, but he played it and then showed it to me. I played the demo for a while and was hooked immediately, but I wanted a kill a crippled kitten because the brick limit. My brother and I each paid $10 to get a shared account. I only played single player for a while, but then got into hosting servers. My IGN was Oliver Hagamy - named after my favorite Lego minifigure. I actually hosted some fairly decent family RPs and made a friend named Kari. I know that she was friends with Zoey because the two of them played on my server constantly. I wasn't as much into Family RPs as I was into good City RPs, but I couldn't host those because I didn't know how to find and implement the add-ons for it.
By joining City RPs, I made a friend named blockbuddy who was 15 and lived in New Brunswick. He informed me about RTB so that I could get add-ons and we were connoisseurs of many City RPs. I really loved that guy. In April 2009, my parents found a very disturbing note that I had written to a girl at my church, and they said I was grounded from Blockland indefinitely. My dad uninstalled the game and wiped my add-ons (he didn't wipe my back-up storage though). I never saw blockbuddy or Kari ever again.
2009-11:
During this time, I didn't play Blockland at all. I belittled my dad about reinstalling the game several times but he either said no or said he'd think about it (and subsequently forget about it). We also had dial-up for much of this time if any internet at all, so playing Blockland wasn't much more than a dream anyway.
2012:
My dad started a free one month trial contract with Verizon where they gave us a mobile hotspot and unlimited data. I reinstalled Blockland but couldn't get past the demo screen without my authentication key, which was linked to my dad's email. I quickly jumped on him about it and I had him email Badspot while we were on a day vacation to Sikeston, MO. He got the key and read it to me, which I typed into my phone and memorized so that I wouldn't lose it again.
This was when I first used XR_7 as my IGN. Online play was simply divine then. Jorgur hosted his dogfight. Heedicalking hosted his original siege. For a hit of nostalgia, I discovered that Tezuni still hosted his age-old prison escape that had changed very minimally over the years that I'd been gone. I was an absolute troll however. I pranced around pretty much bragging about Christianity and mercilessly judging every atheist that I came across. During this time, I discovered the forums and received a permanent ban within a couple days. I also successfully impersonated Badspot on the RTB General discussion and actually accumulated several believers. Over the course of that week, I was drama'd at least three times. During the whole impersonation scheme, a user by the name of Erupter76 tried PMing me in order to convince me to stop bothering people. We ended up talking into the wee hours of the morning and becoming friends. We fell out not long after, because he caught me trolling again on the GD when I was harrassing people who said bad words. We didn't talk anymore after that, but I've seen him play Blockland fairly recently so he might still be around.
After trolling for maybe another month, the hard drive in the desktop computer crashed.
2013-15:
I reinstalled Blockland on the laptop that we got perhaps six months later. I had greatly mended my ways and got back into being friendly and enjoying the game. I made a few halfhearted attempts at emailing Badspot to get him to unban my forum account and only got no or negative responses. Later in 2013, I was named a moderator at Tezuni's Prison Escape by HunterG. I took my job very seriously because it was the first time I had a position at a popular server. However, I discovered that my brother was getting on the server and using my mod privileges for his own enjoyment so I bought a new account and had our shared account demoted so he couldn't do it anymore. With my new account, I created this forum account around the time my most recent sister was born (Oct 2013). I've been weaned off of Blockland for the most part due to internet limitations, parental scorn of the game, and now being more busy with work and school.
