In July we were about to leave to go on vacation to Michigan. Only my brother was home and I was emptying the dryer because I had just cleaned my laundry. I opened the basement door to go downstairs and tried pulling it closed with my elbow joint which conveniently sticks out of my skeletal arms, but I couldn't get enough of a hold on it. I stuck my foot under the door and pulled it like that. Right when the door closed, my other foot slid backwards off the carpeted top step. The heavy laundry basket started to fall and pulled me down the stairs with me pinned underneath. I slid and thumped down the entire flight of stairs on my spine which is already very misaligned. The basket and I crashed onto the hardwood floor down at the bottom and I couldn't move due to the wind being knocked out of me, plus I was in way too much pain to immediately move anyway. I just turned my head down into the carpeted bottom step and laid there for over five minutes with my limbs sprawled out with a heavy laundry basket parked on top of my torso.
Fortunately, I only escaped with carpet burn on both of my legs, my back, and the back of my head plus a few bruises on my right hip and lower back. If I'd been injured anymore than that, such as breaking a bone or something more serious, my parents wouldn't have been able to help me for another 45 minutes when they got home. My phone wasn't with me.
