not everything is going download automatically

This is a problem with your garry's mod. Everyone else can connect fine.

have you ever joined a properly set up server like lifepunch? where everything is on fastdl or workshop auto dl (not manual like telling people to download workshop content)

this is the standard in gmod


if you don't like it have fun getting people arsed enough to join.

+ installing workshop addons manually adds it to your single player bullstuff, perfectly acceptable lines of code allow you to do this stuff automaticially without hassling the user:

You've done something weird to your garry's mod, because it DOES download it from workshop.

Either garry's mod had an update like yesterday that made it so disabling addons from the multiplayer menu disabled server workshop downloads, or you're making things up.

its always disabled a lot of downloading for me
i dont know if its specifically workshop addons but i never see any workshop stuff downloading when i have it on map files only

I'm fairly sure it disables legacy addon downloads (aka addons in folders)
