As much as I disagree with Satan's opinion he's right to an extent. Earthbound didn't really change the industry, but I guess you could say it did influence certain indie games.

It was alright, but hardly genre redefining. It was pretty much just yet another quirky rpg to add to the pile of quirky rpgs and it's not something to last for generations to come.

The combat system was a pretty cool mix of bullet hell and conventional turn-based combat, but that's about it.

Indeed. I like civ 5, but it's a dumbed down civ 4. Also Stalker and Fallout 1 and better open world games than Fallout 3.

Burnout 3 added the wreckathon and Underground brought amazing levels of car customization
