Author Topic: whats the deal with furries  (Read 30461 times)

there are 2 furries at my school that I know of, one is pretty nice and doesnt talk about their furry stuff much because they know its not everyone cup of tea so a lot of people dont care that hes a furry (although he looks kinda stupid in his fox beanie but whatev)

the other one however is an idiot who howls super loudly at lunch and nobody likes them

No im just saying Tumblr is too accepting most of the time. but Furries are part of our culture that says 'EVERYONE SHOULD BE ACCEPTED' which Tumblr promotes most of the time.
tumblr didn't start that, like you said
tumblr shouldn't be taken seriously at all either, there's plenty of each fandom + more stupid views like you said that rolls out of that website

Because their one of those new age accepting trends we got going? I'm pretty sure its self explanatory TBH...
furries have been a thing, that many have hated and liked, long before tumblr became the website we know it as today

that hasn't changed because of tumblr, I'm not really sure tumblr has anything to do with the debate right now

Yes I am, just not lately.
so why are you trying to say it's not, if you know you're fandom - particularly you - is loud about it

bronies are ten times as annoying and louder than any other fandom, I can go to YouTube and get a cringe video and 90% of the video it's bronies trying to push their weird views of the show onto others
I can't say the same for furries or weebs who do keep to themselves at conventions, or their bedrooms

no, it is not self-explanatory. why do you think it's a "new age accepting trend"???

it's always really weird to me how easily people start to imagine there are extensive connections to liking things and being an archetypal terrible person

if you're defining a community exclusively be people that like something you're going to get a ridiculously broad grab bag of individuals that you can't really characterise

Really?

Maybe it is my ignorance because I am one but, I have never seen a pushy brony who wasn't baited into it because he was wearing merch.

As for weebs I could probably find 10 threads where an irrelevant anime meme was posted.

I highly doubt this

likewise, there's tons of bronies out there who post brony memes where it isnt relevant. maybe not on blf, but what's your point? any group can have stuffty people in it, your group included.

Those ones are not bronies, they are trolls. (See Lord Tony)

No, I'm sure that at least some of them are actually bronies. All I'm getting at is that you can't tell other people their group is stuff for all the same things your group does.

nope
have you ever looked at the youtube comments section?

any group can have stuffty people in it, your group included.
therefore, these outliers are a natural corruption and not a characteristic that can be extrapolated onto all members of x group

the latter is literally a case of prejudice. like, definitively. it is an unreasonable assumption and not cool

they may definitely be bronies, because a brony is just a person that likes FiM to my understanding. i think what you're really saying is that they can't act as some kind of baseline for the personality of all other bronies because that doesn't make sense. their liking of a show has no bearing on their personality, and so a group of people that like the show can have incredibly diverse personality traits and still be a part of the group.

my only way of explaining it, like it or not, is because they're cartoon humans and don't give off the wrong signals to everybody like furry images would

also my view on bronies is that it's just not socially acceptable for a male to like a girls show, and that put a bad name on the show as a whole I guess because that's it's main viewer

feel free to tell me I'm wrong but that's just my way of looking at mlp; a kids show that got a bad name because of who watches it and isn't really supposed to

nerds aren't socially accepted to be gay nerd you're wrong

are you calling me wrong. did I ask for this.
(I did but I didn't, it was a lie for you see I am always right)
