Author Topic: Steam Escrow - new steam trading feature that could kill bot trading  (Read 10480 times)

i wouldn't really care if it wasn't for the forced mobile authentication

but tell me, if you're not authenticated, do your trades just never go through or are they just delayed?

so it wasnt bad enough we have that stupid as forget waiting period for market items
or the email verification
or how we're forced to use steam guard unless we want another waiting period and no steam support help
but now we have to verify it on mobile as well and if we cant it goes into ANOTHER waiting period

forget you valve

Quote
'What is Escrow?', After a trade has been accepted by both parties, if either party's account has not been secured by the Steam Guard Mobile Authenticator, then to protect against unauthorized trades, the traded items will be placed in escrow. During the escrow period, the items will not be available to either user. This allows users who have not secured their accounts to cancel any unauthorized trades and recover their items. Canceling all pending and in-escrow trades will place a trading hold on your account for a few days to prevent any further unauthorized attempts to trade away items.

step 1. don't get scammed
step 2. there would be no need to have anti-scam measures.

It's loving ridiculous with some of the things they've done just to protect handicaps, like remove the /me command because SOMEONE out there thought it was a verification message.

This whole mobile authenticator thing is bullstuff. I don't get why people think their phone is more secure than their email ??

Because an email can be hijacked 1000x more easily than your entire loving phone can.

i dont understand the problem
honestly i dont

if you're not a secure account, your items are taken away untill you can prove you're not a bot

if you're not a bot, whats the issue here?

Havent read any of the other replies:

You do realise this isn't the end of bots? Bots get whitelisted. When captchas were introduced into trading, bots were whitelisted from these so that they could still operate.

what do you mean bots got white listed
what the forget????????????
how does steam even know its a bot

capatchas are implemented into trading?

1000$ skins for weapons in a virtual game.

It's as dumb and easily scammable as it sounds.
You know TF2 and CS:GO aren't the only games with steam trading right?

Because csgoloungs and those tf2 bots are pretty forgetin popular
