If you are going to do 2 handed, move the model back, who cares if the stock isnt on his shoulder, the hand is far too outstreched for it to look decent.

Plus tommygun on hip is pretty loving g in the literal sense

Well i'd like to see you do a nice pack of 1920-1950's variety weapons with your current style since you already made the Thompson w/drum mag, that would be cool, :^)
Already ahead of you ;) will need to look more into it but yea, that was my idea. Glad somebody else thinks it's a good idea!

I've thought about this, and it seems I'll have to sacrifice something. Either te gun has to be snubbed down more so the stock doesn't jut out through the shoulder. Or only have one hand on the weapon. Or somehow make the stock smaller. Or have it stick through the shoulder severely. Or just deal with it as is... What do you guys think?

Try making the hands show up only in first person, but not in third person.

forget i posted in the wrong thread like a dumbass

I'm back! Sorry for being absent for so long after Thanksgiving and such. Was actually pretty sick for like a week, and now I feel much better to actually do stuff lol. Will be working on my weapons now, and actually I have a question for you guys: In your opinion, does it matter if the weapons are from a war, or civilian 'themed'? Or does it not matter. My weapons are, like I said, going to be from the WWII era and was wondering if it matters if they are all military or all civilian or both? Hope this makes sense. Will post pictures soon!

seems like this was forgotten, keep the dream alive :^(

as for that question, i'd say both military and civilian.

why does it have a drum mag

why does it have a drum mag
have you not seen a tommy gun

have you not seen a tommy gun
although it is stereotypically seen with a drum mag, drum mags were hard to reload compared to standard mags and so were only seen outside the military, aka in the hands of gangsters

honestly, the gun itself could have more detail. for example, the trigger is super meh

Haha I know! Just been lazy or can't find motivation or one of my main problems is getting the gun(s) to work how I want them to. But I always run into a problem and that's throwing me off lol. I haven't forgotten tho. It WILL get done, hopefully soon ;P

Bingo:)

Sweet Hands.
this is the dark future we were warned against!!!
tell you're friends!!!
Arm yourselves with knowledge!!!!!

I was debating whether to just hold it with one hand or hide both hands on the character and add hands to the model, which only show up when you equip the weapon. Eventually I decided to hide the hands. I like it but idk, what would you guys prefer?
I think the weirdest thing about hands is how long the left arm looks and how short the right one looks.  Could be solved by centering the gun more, or having a model for when the player is just holding the weapon vs firing.

Pictures: The first three demonstrate the holding position, and the last one, kinda unsuccessfully, demonstrates the firing position (credits to R* for their game and its glitches)

Edit: Weird hands may have to do with the size of the weapon as well.  The proportion of the weapon to a blockheads body is almost 1:1, which I think is near universal in this game.  A blockhead is also only 4 bricks tall, in comparison to a 5 brick tall LEGO mini-figure which I believe is usually associated with a 6 foot tall male.

Edit2: Awkward because LEGO figures are 4 bricks tall.  I swore there was a difference between LEGO and BL heights but I may be wrong.
