Author Topic: STARWARS EPISODE VII: The Force awakens / Episode 8?! Already?  (Read 37423 times)

pretty much my only complaints about the movie are hardcore plot armor (when the group sneak into the deathstar mk.3 nobody notices - no glances, no cameras, no alarms, nothing) and the ending shot where the camera spins. pretty good besides, han solo was a well done character, kylo is a new villain for the audience to hate (if you don't like him for being angsty, congrats. thats the whole point. he is supposed to be an angsty angry child) the rey & chewbacca group seems like it will be cool as hell in the next movie. personally, I didn't even mind the retreads. I wanted more star wars, I got it, and it was good.

The reason I hate Kylo is the same reason I hated JarJar and Ep1-3 Anakin. They're all incredibly immature characters whose behavior is annoying and awkward/cringey. They aren't hated in a good way, but in a way that means "this is a poorly made character" or "this character doesnt belong in this movie". Jar Jar was childlike and immature through his stupidity and obliviousness. Anakin was childlike and immature through his awful romance dialogue/scenes and his constant fits/tantrums. When Kylo Ren said he intended to finish what his grandfather started, if he meant by that to continue acting like how Anakin did in the prequels, he hit the nail right on the head. Except unlike Anakin they make this dude straight up like some sort of emo wimp, he's clearly been reading too many Twilight and Vampire Diaries books.

I actually think the actor was in a vampire movie at some point, I recognize him from a stuffty trailer or something

I like Kylo Ren's character. The temper tantrums show that he's not fully in control like he should be. It shows that there's still some conflict in him and some growing to do.

I agree, but it's just cringingly emo and childish at times, like the "continue the legacy of earth vader" scene

  • Kylo Ren. This has to be the most angsty and immature Star Wars villain I have ever seen. He's an emotional manchild who throws temper tantrums when things don't go his way. When his surbordinates fail to accomplish the missions he gives them, he doesn't kill them and instead rages and destroys everything in sight with his lightsaber. He reacts the same way a small child does when they get their favorite toy taken away.
isnt this literally the point of his character

he's a Vader fanboy who is overconfident in his abilities and is ridiculously untrained because of it

I admit that that was pretty lame but otherwise I thought he was much better than Anakin ever was.

But at the end of the Return of the Jedi we already kinda start to see Luke's personality and emotions change to that of his father

In the video it says mark can't tell a "secret." The video then says the secret is Luke being evil. Which it wasn't. It was that he had 0 lines. If he said "I'm in the movie but I have no lines." That would.. cost a lot of money... Anyway I think I've seen this video already.
The line how Luke "lies" Well so did obi wan. Was he evil? He told the storm troopers that the droids they were looking for, weren't. The whole video is hinting "oh but what if theres a twist!" .... There isn't. Nothing in the video shows how luke should be on the dark side.

If he was, why would he be training a new generation of Jedi? Why would he be hiding like Yoda if he was evil? It just doesn't make sense.

I like how they touched on the events from Jedi Academy where that student you played as turned and betrayed luke

even though i completely disagree with the fact that Luke turns evil, it could have happened after Ben destroyed his academy

Then why is Snoke trying to find the map to luke to kill him lol

that ending wasnt the canon choice for jedi academy, and the student they're talking about is kylo ren
