Author Topic: Jairo's Vassals and Vandals RP - A MOST HOLY ENDEAVOR! DOWN WITH THE KHANATE!  (Read 24793 times)

Set sail for the Peninsula! Explore the coast of little island where the cursor is, looking for any small villages.
Your party lands in the midst of a small fishing community. Their militia men hurry to fit out their weapons to repel the perceived raid.

Inquire with the Mezzanine traders for employment with them.
The traders scoff at your supposed poverty, instead suggesting you look for employment in the fields.

I'll cover the other posts I missed in a second

Your party lands in the midst of a small fishing community. Their militia men hurry to fit out their weapons to repel the perceived raid.
Before the fight starts, see if there are any Vaasans there that might "sympathise" with our "cause."

Muamed stops the party a ways outside of town and rests. He sends the scout to poke around and see if the Khan is there, and if he is, where. In the mean time, he shows his party how to properly defend (and attack) horse archers. If all goes to plan, they will use the cover of night and the buildings in the village to defeat any advantage they could have in open ground, and then skewer the kuffar filth on their spear points.
Your scout returns to report the following:
- Mughadei Khan is holed up near the stables, along with his other men.
- He has 26 mounted troops, more than half of which are ranged. The rest are armed with melee weapons.
- The village is, indeed, sympathetic to him.
- Your scout may have been detected by accident.

You also train your less experienced men in the ways of resilience.

Tu Khan will be heading to Tutache Camp to hold off the siege.

When arriving at Tutache, train the 13 men I recruited.
Chimbai Khan will accompany your assault. He warns you of their highly trained anti-cavalry pikemen.

You train your 13 recruits, bringing them up to speed with the latest tactics.

Before the fight starts, see if there are any Vaasans there that might "sympathise" with our "cause."
Your Vaasan soldiers remove their helmets and drop their weapons to approach the fishermen. The local militia appear skeptical, but halt their charge. After talking for a bit, your soldiers return with the local militia and unarmed fishermen ready to aid your cause (16 men total).

Attempt to find out how much money I have and seek employment with a local, smaller guild which specializes in exchange. Or, if that's not available due to Mezzanine monopoly, seek apprenticeship with a craftsman

Tu Khan suggests this plan for routing the opposition out of Tutache once we begin our defense.

Wait until night, and then sneak around to the side of the village with the stables. Move slowly and quietly. Have archers or crossbowmen engage any sentries. When the men near the stable, surround exits and entrances and have the archers/crossbowmen fire in on the party.

Check with local trading post for commodities / departing caravan.
(To be done after former post)

We'll help you rebuild while I think on the matter with some of my men, I'll see what I can do about him soon.

Adalwolf expands on this by proposing a heavy log or stone structure (reminiscant to a blockhouse) to protect the town's resources aside from livestock from the bandits.

Later the current men are finally met with some formal training in hand to hand combat.

Marsellus goes about the taverns and strikes up conversation about the formation of a free company or mercenary group that may serve. He does however concede that this is an endeavor for which he has no capital or coin to fund at the time.

You have enough money to remain in the city for about a week, but not much else. You are taken into the Basil's Guild, one centered around regulating Carpaccian trade.

I'm sorry but I'm not very big on this whole economy aspect. I made this RP with combat in mind, not fur peddling. I'm not sure how well I can emulate the intricacies of an economy, let alone managing routes, cost of various products, etc.

Bulgar Khan does not think Bedri will have his troops grouped like you have here. He believes they'll be in a real formation to resist such a frontal attack. Perhaps we should plan another strategy.

2 trained spearmen [melee] killed
1 veteran archer [ranged] wounded
1 scout [support] wounded

=[Defender Army]=

=[Defender Casualties]=

1 crack lancer [cavalry] wounded
2 crack lancers [cavalry] routed
10 veteran mounted archers [ranged] killed
3 veteran mounted archers [ranged] wounded
4 veteran mounted archers [ranged] routed

Your scout's perceived detection was proven: he was indeed seen during his mission, and so Mughadei preempted your move by stealthily relocating a small band of lancers some distance out of view. When your men gathered around the stable, the lancers charged in and caught some of your spearmen off guard before falling to your superior pikes. A bloody bottleneck ensued from the nearby doorways and Mughadei was ultimately felled by a loosed arrow, shattering the morale of his troops and leaving your men with clean-up duty.

Muamed ibn-al Rashidun has acquired the Risk Taker trait.

Your lone archer feels he has distinguished himself enough already and requests a promotion. One to a more meaningful position, if possible (you may make him a companion).

Later the current men are finally met with some formal training in hand to hand combat.
The elder entertains the thought and directs his lumberjacks to acquire the necessary resources.

Your villagers are remedially trained in both attack and defense, providing them with mental security, if nothing else.

Marsellus goes about the taverns and strikes up conversation about the formation of a free company or mercenary group that may serve. He does however concede that this is an endeavor for which he has no capital or coin to fund at the time.
It appears all able-bodied men have already been recruited by mercenaries looking to sign up with the Empire, save for the 2 untrained footmen you gather. Your men suggest recruiting from the smaller villages to avoid the city scraps.

Travel to the building where Basil's Guild is based.
Inquire with the Guildmaster about anything I need before completing any errands or tasks.

Tebessa truly the favored sons of Allah

A close victory. Muamed shakes his head. The dead are buried and the wounded tended to. The enemy party's loot is collected, with stolen valuables from Suwailim sorted out to be returned. He collects the head of the Khan himself and bags it for identification. A letter is made to notify Tebessan leaders of Kashmir's collaboration with the enemy.

Muamed grants the request of the archer, one Ahmed ibn Hatim, the Khan Killer. He will be the party's second.

Any living horses are collected as well.
