As stated in the OP, I was no-hand-driving because the highway to the airport is ALWAYS and I mean ALWAYS with heavy transit. Changing gears once every 10 seconds. 4th ends up having the revolutions too low and a few seconds later, 3rd has the revolutions too high.

this is probably why you should focus more on driving than drinking coffee

When learning how to drive, you're always taught to keep your hands at 10 and 2. You never take your hands off the wheel unless you need to take off one to do something quick.
