could part of the problem be solved by doubling down on smurf accounts on ranked, and prevent players from queuing with players outside x deviations of their rank?

this would force smurf players to smurf on normals with lower ranked friends instead of ranked which should resolve a lot of this conflict
This wasn't nearly so big of a problem in Solo Queue, as there would still be 3-4 random baddies that could forget up a booster's plans. The problem is that the variable of matchmaking is now controllable in the sense that one can fill a team with better players to lift a worse teammate.

They could've made a unique fear passive or something where fiddlesticks distorts enemy screens or something when they are near him. Their cursor moves and twitches or something, could've gave him some sort of short range channel crow blink or something. Anything to give him just an ounce of mobility but no, i guess a magic scarecrow needs a stupid boot passive.

My guess is that the passive is to compensate for the fact that fiddles is literally standing still for 2 of his abilities (Both really his trademarks) and needs to get back into battle if they escape him past his drain / so he can chase them if they move away from his ult.

Assuming that his abilities are left intact and that he doesn't need to be holding still for longer than his ult's channel.

They basically made Aurelion Sol's Q into Anivia's Q but better since size does mean something now, and I'm guessing Syndra's pick up might function as an AoE now too.

Xerath changes give us a new reason to shout Kobe in memory of him, DFG, and WOTA.
Veigar looks stupidly op for just landing spells on enemy champions, which probably includes his E.

That would be massively counter-intuitive, I'll go confirm some changes, or just check the Surrenderat20 article since moobeat doesn't know what sleep is and is way better at digging around than I am.
