well that was an interesting test

filled with suspense, intrique, and rooms breaking

bushido was a gunlord

the biggest thing holding me back right now is the constant breaking of rooms

there's also a few fixups i need to do too

i think it's mostly when you're riding a horse or being caught by a shark and you get ejected through the ceiling or the wall

i can make a small safety measure for floors though

if you raise the roof of the rooms that have horses, the issue of horse ejection would be more or less solved

EDIT: Also, if you make the prices in the in-pit point shops higher the deeper they are (moreso than right now), you can offset the fact that people get so many points while going through the dungeon

not if the horses can jump up to the roof
all you need to do is get off when they touch the top of the roof, hold space and boom, you're out

So, rggbnnnnn was kind enough to give me the password to the server and luckily enough, I managed to meet The Resonate! on his server. So, I just beat the test build which only contains 50 levels and also beat it with The Resonate! So, I am going to do...

THE SPR1TE stuffTY REVIEW OF THE 100 (actually 50) TRIALS!!!

Alright, let's start off with my story with the server.
1-10
So, I join the server and plunge deep into the 100 Trials, so first 10 levels will actually seem a little hard but level 7 introdcues magicians which have very op magic so I died my first time ever. So, I bought some healing potions and went back in again, this time The Resonate! helping me. I managed to get to the first miniboss (LVL 10) and he was pretty easy. But I did encounter some bugs on the way which can get annoying for normal players but not admins much.

I didn't bother with a fullscale review, the server is good but buggy BUT until release it will probably be like on the best gamemodes ever.
7/10 for test build.

Day 32(?)


i don't remember what progress day today is

i've been applying changes from notes that i made out of reception and things i noticed during the tests
price balancing, build tuneups, event fixings, etc

it's pretty much ready for public playing, except for how the rooms breaks sometimes due to crazy events


also steadily deciphering the many causes of room breaks, when certain doors or walls don't appear or disappear which throw it all out of control. it might have something to do with relays, and also height?

right now the build is at 500 64x cubes high. i lowered it to 300 64x cubes high. hopefully that can do something good???


TIMELINE

test tomorrow probably

once i figure out how to drastically reduce the number of room breaks, then hopefully i can perform a test open to everyone. i have a few ideas.

and when all is said and done, i will release the current gamemode and it's assets.

the estimate is 5 days

then i will work on the other 50 levels in private without progress updates, at a much slower pace than the nutso 12 days i made the first 50 levels in. although i'll probably still make posts when i get to 75 and 99.

500 64x cubes is 500*64*.9 TU which is about 28800 TU in the sky. 300 reduces it to 17,280.

You may be bordering on farlands distances. If your build is all localized within 1000TU (2000 brick studs horizontally, about 900 bricks up/down) you can use /clearfarawaybricks to remove any possible spam or such, if you notice that on saving the events are screwed up.

I highly suggest setting up a script to handle the finer aspects of the build, such as triggering bots to spawn or such. I can help you out on that part if you need.

the problem with that would be: how would such a script work? it needs to fit with the build, and be able to spawn any kind of bot, which is doable through bot holes.
keep in mind that none of the rooms use any brick names whatsoever: it's completely localized, and it has to be done so that what happens in one room doesn't affect any other.

i don't really know much about scripts so i don't know if using scripts is possible or not
