I think spending an hour in the office is more 'disruptive to learning' than a distracting flyer

Say that it's no more distracting than having a student ask for a piece of paper to write on and then giving them said piece of paper, and that the only reason they've brought you in is because of the content on the paper, and that doing so is discrimination. That it's not based on actual distraction, it's an excuse, because of either personal bias or trying to defend the teacher that overreacted in the first place.

Explain how the teacher overreacted, again, simply because of what was on the piece of paper rather than the fact that a piece of paper was given at all, that they were looking for any excuse to get rid of you due to personal prejudice against you, and that having said personal prejudice is unacceptable. Say that without that prejudice you wouldn't be there and that it should be the teacher that's getting a talking to for discriminating against their own students.

Say how the entire situation is a gross overreaction to what is essentially an expression of freedom of speech and freedom of religion, and that the group is not actually causing any harm. If they want to claim to have those things then they need to tolerate it and put childish prejudice aside.

sad but this is what happens when you take Christianity out of our public schools

the kids join cults to fill the god-shaped holes in their heart.

ask them rather they'd ban all religious groups from the school or allow them all

i think a lot of the students who were super angry at zealot were probably so because satan is to christianity what osama bin laden is to modern america. they're both generally considered to be terribly evil figures. i'm sure some of them must have taken your club as a personal insult to their faith, kind of like how feminational socialists might take personal insult when a man holds the door open for them.

Whos to say that Christians aren't insulting to satanist?

christianity has been around for thousands of years and is the world's largest and most influential religion. most satanist groups today are a fairly recent occurence, and satanism is often used as a joke religion to make fun of christianity. and in this case zealot started it as a joke club. very few people are going to take a "but i'm offended by their christianity" defense seriously.

christianity [...] is the world's largest and most influential religion.
Debatable

And no, it doesn't matter that it's a joke (And it's debatable that it's a joke in the first place, it seems more like a protest to me). It's the exact same reason that the Church of the Flying Spaghetti Monster is officially allowed to perform marriages, because we have freedom of religion. It doesn't matter what the beliefs of your religion are. That's the entire point of the word "freedom." If it was restricted to what you personally subjectively believe are "good" religions then it wouldn't be freedom of religion anymore. It would be "yeah pick one of these and you're good if its not on the list screw off"

That doesn't mean they can't find the complete opposite religion insulting. If you can have a christian club you can have a satanist club, both are religion groups. Fake or not.

I can see it, but modern Satanism, at least in the US, has become more of a political religion as a counterpoint to Christianity and its push into American law.

also, i'm pissed with my math teacher, and the situation as a whole. so i'm gonna try and hatch some plans:

1. maybe pass students sheets of printer paper just for use with their work, inciting his rage as he thinks it is another flier
2. ask other students to pass around sheets of paper to prove he is just going after fliers
3. just ask him about it and watch him try to explain his actions
Just have somebody who is really good at hiding things film the class when you do it, It's pretty damn obvious he doesn't like your club and wants to discriminate against it.

He can loose his job for doing that and part of me kind of wants for him to loose it, plus you'll get a sub to mess around with until they get another math teacher...unless the sub is a cool substitute teacher (you know the ones that put movies on as an excuse to not have to teach the class)

Do do the passing papers and have other students pass fliers, he shouldn't be imposing his own religious beliefs onto you guys, thats against the law.

Keep the name no matter what though, and when they ask you about the name just keep bandwagoning.

Have someone undercover pass out christian fliers and film it

Have someone undercover pass out christian fliers and film it
Now this is just straight up sabotage via espionage.

I dare you to go to a school in Alabama and do this, you'll probably get shot or stabbed
