i think a lot of the students who were super angry at zealot were probably so because satan is to christianity what osama bin laden is to modern america.
Dead and defeated??

christianity has been around for thousands of years and is the world's largest and most influential religion.

You people act like your adamant belief being the butt of a joke is a personal attack, and yet you're so quick to dismiss something like OP. This is exactly why satirical religions such as Satanism have sprouted, especially in the west. People want freedom of religion, but only for their religion.

It doesn't matter if OP's Students for Satanism thing was a joke, fact of the matter is that the people bullying OP don't know it's a joke.

when we take christ and the church out of public schools, students moral barometers become skewed and as a result they think it is ok to create these cults

We're actually hoping to get a meeting room set up during lunch on Thursdays, one day after Spartans for Christ in the same room. It's just a matter of insisting upon equal treatment.

They've asked us to change the name. I'm going to point out that this group exists as a counterpart to Spartans for Christ, for those who don't identify with the church. And what's the opposite of Christ? Satan. By changing our name to anything else we would corrupt the group in itself.
Make it the Pastafarian club and go with that. It maintains the idea behind the joke.

It just won't have the same reactions, though. EVERYONE will pass it off as the joke it is, but suddenly, everyone takes Satan soooo seriously.

has nobody read the case of tinker v. des moines

Now this is just straight up sabotage via espionage.
What? How is it sabotage? The goal is to get the papers to be passed out and to see how many teachers go after it. Chances are there won't be any because they are passing a christian group flier.

Quote from: Wikipedia
The Court held that for school officials to justify censoring speech, they "must be able to show that [their] action was caused by something more than a mere desire to avoid the discomfort and unpleasantness that always accompany an unpopular viewpoint.
sounds like we're good here

just got out of Spartans for Christ

THE WHOLE LESSON WAS ABOUT US

edit: we will have to cede the name if we want a sponsor.
We're hoping to change the name to Latin, so it would be Spartstar fish Enim Diabolis.

Osama, yes. Satan, not yet.

For some reason Osama sounds like the name of an anime character rather than an arab guy to me

So, Satan isn't to Christians what Osama is to modern America.

Osama-chan notice me~

They are. Christians consider Satan to be evil. Modern America considers Osama to be evil. One has been defeated, and so will the other in time.

But Satan lets me forget guys, idk if I want him to go away so fast.
