Author Topic: Overwatch Megathread  (Read 893524 times)

Yes also cringe when I see a Genji in game. Every single time. It's debilitating, and I can't play Overwatch anymore because of it. Glad I can identify with somebody.
Wanna trade

idk m8.
Left click:
Genji, 28x3 (28-84) damage in burst. Projectile. 1 burst per second.
McCree, 20-70 damage instantly. Hitscan. 2 shots per second.
Assuming perfect aim (non headshot) and optimal range: 84 vs 140 dps. Becomes tied at 34 meters. For a comparison, at that range, you'd have to lead Genji's shots by 0.72 seconds. Good luck. You're even well out of Roadhog hook range.

Right click:
Genji, same damage, but waving them instantly. Making this only useful in melee range. However, 1.33 shots per second increases the DPS.
McCree, 22-45 per shot firing rapidly. Apparently does less damage each shot, so I can't even properly judge it. Either way, it does at least 200 damage over 2 thirds of a second. This makes the dps approx 112 vs 266~. Yes, reloads exist, but so does...

Shift:
Genji, Deals 50 damage to each enemy. Moves Genji 14 meters. Takes 0.4 seconds to perform. Pretty cool ability. Probably the only benefit of playing Genji, other than his 'become ana boosted reinhardt' ult.
McCree, Moves McCree only 6 meters. But can be done in the direction he's moving instead of facing, and makes him reload over 0.5 seconds. The only downside to this is that you have to be on the ground. Where you'll be with McCree 99% of the time anyway. This enables him to resume his ridiculous DPS, and potentially even putting him in more optimal range.

E:
Genji, has a seizure. Players with good morals will worry about him and stop shooting. Good players with questionable morals will just melee him. Unless he shows up out of nowhere, or is deflecting Junkrat bombs from behind something, this is pretty much just a D.Va shield. A really small one. It gains the benefit of creating projectiles and hitscans if someone shoots him for some reason.
McCree, deals 25 damage in a 2 meter radius, at a range of 5 meters. almost instantly and fortunately well within his optimal range. It also allows him to do his full right click DPS for 0.7 seconds because you can't do anything, not even anything you were already doing.

Q:
Genji's enemy team play of the game: shutdown "some japanese stuf- uahhghh"
McCree's enemy team play of the game: shutdown "it's high new- uggh"

so please, take this loving gay cowboy out of my game at least i can get rules of natured and know it's coming instead of just dying from being in front of a gun

oh, so that's why it hurts more in a fight
good to know it shoots faster

good genji players never get appreciated :(

they are, silently, by the enemy team's backliners

I never appreciate Genji. He's a blemish on an otherwise good game.

I love to play Tracer and often enough get gold in elims but have a problem with dmg done. Am I playing poorly or is Tracer's dmg pretty low compared to the rest of the team. Can never keep up with Junkrat, Roadhog n Widow etc.

I play tracer a lot and I find that my job is to eliminate key targets (healers and bastion mostly) as well as finishing off fleeing low-hp enemies

As long as I do that, I'd say I'm doing my job. Even being a distraction is beneficial to the team, provided you can do it for long enough

hey if you're doing well in eliminations damage doesn't matter all that much anyways

I remember when I was playing Dota 2 and being terrible, one game the enemies are hunting me down for feed, ignoring everything else while my competent team tears their base a new one.

So I'd say that statement is true.

That's how Tracer normally ends up: low damage, high elims

Damage done medal is largely irrelevant because that's not what matters in this game. If you do a ton of damage to someone but don't finish them off  (which is what heroes like Junkrat tend to do) then all you're really accomplishing is feeding enemy support ult charge

If you damage an enemy that is killed by someone else it still counts as an elimination

why the forget do they have to keep nerfing mcree? im so upset that they made it so mcree's ult is completely used even if he doesnt shoot. like as if his ult wasnt hard enough to use now youre forgeted if you so much as get stunned when trying to use his ult. at least give him the ability like genji has where your ability gets recharged if you get a kill.

mccree doesn't even need an ult, he's good enough already
