i have not played this game in almost a year. is it still worth playing and has anything noteworthy happened
the last time i played may have been september or october
o yea it's totally still worth playing imo
les see uh going by the wiki and the most notable patches after u left there were:
- halloween terror event (u can now actually buy the limited event items but they're a bit more expensive than regular ones)
- new hero: sombra (she can go invisible for a bit and hack enemies to disable them using abilities for a few seconds and hack health packs so that the enemy can't use them and they respawn faster)
- new feature: the arcade to replace the weekly brawls
- new mode in the arcade: 1v1 and 3v3 elimination and a new map: ecopoint antarctica for it
- winter wonderland event
- symmetra reworked (boring 25 sheild ability replaced with photon barrier which basically projects a small reinhardt shield in front of u that moves forward and she has the option to place a shield generator instead of a teleporter that gives everyone on ur team 75 shields as long as they're not too far from it and teles and shield gens have much more health)
- new control (king of the hill) map: oasis
- year of the rooster event
- new feature: game browser (people can make custom games public to other people) (also the options of custom games has increased dramatically)
- new mode in the arcade: capture the flag
- new hero: orisa (omnic tank that's like a centaur)
- uprising event
- anniversary event
- 3 new maps for elimination
- new assault (2 cp) map: horizon lunar colony (it's on the moon and there's a bit with low gravity but it's outta the way for the most part)
- new hero: doomfist
- lootboxes don't have nearly as many duplicates anymore
- and u can now save highlights
and at some point early on they made it so u can't pick 2 or more of the same hero in quick play and competitive (trust me it's for the best) but idk if that was when u were still playing
and the killfeed's gotten better
also the summer games is currently back again and coming soon is a deathmatch and team deathmatch mode with a new map for that as well
and of course in all that there were a good amount of balance changes and stuff but i can't be forgeted to list all that
