This is the beauty of the state part of the United States, and this doesn't actually reflect the opinion of all 50 states if one state has a dumb law. It's not like the whole population supports a state's law, only the delegates to those states' congress, which requires a majority, and where they rarely actually support the opinions of locals.
And most of these laws are rarely enforced. It can be in the books, but they really can't throw it at you, because you can just appeal to a judge and the judge can say its dumb and unconstitutional or something smh.
