yeah, and none of that changes the fact that they intentionally, deliberately, knowingly excluded press outlets because they don't fit their narrative, saying they are fake news, which is an incredibly piss-poor thing to try and normalize. it doesn't matter how small or stupid an event it was, the principle behind this decision is what's problematic. if this doesn't continue to other events, great, but that doesn't make it ok

They had an invite only meeting and didn't invite someone. It's not the end of the world.

that's pretty ballsy coming from the random ass alt making bold statements and refusing to clarify them, responding only with "stop reading fake news and enlighten yourself, troll" when his views are challenged in any way

That's cool you're still reading propaganda and politifact is still biased. Just Google politifact biased I'm not your loving mom.

Politifact is owned by the Tampa Bay Times who haven't endorsed a Republican candidate in over 100 years. Hilariously biased and shouldn't ever be trusted.

I don't get the correlation here. They're certainly left-leaning, but I don't see how this damages their credibility. Must an organization cover both left and right viewpoints in order to be credible? As long as their reporting is factual, what's the issue?

The issue is when you rate things pants on fire and then in the comments below admit what was said was partially true. This happens more than a couple times. I'd offer to collect examples but I'm literally on the cusp of a 12 hour shift and I'm about to walk out the door.

yeah I'm sure that's why you keep coming back to get in the last word

I don't think this should be a partisan issue. There's some disturbing precedence being made here. The ability to choose their press pool is the ability to send out propaganda even better than before. If left news sites weren't there, they can't be a first-hand source. I could gag at the thought of our first-hand news coming from Fox and Breitbart. There's a delicate system of checks and balances here that's being violated when one side has full power.

yeah I'm sure that's why you keep coming back to get in the last word

Yes because somehow in the space of 40 minutes of getting ready I found the 30 seconds to check and respond you absolute muppet.

Well when you have the time, I'd love to see some examples. I haven't found anything like that myself.

Publications are usually more credible if they cover stories that counter their narrative. The WP is better than the NYT cause they covered stories that were anti Democrat

I could gag at the thought of our first-hand news coming from Fox and Breitbart.

Of course you would

They had an invite only meeting and didn't invite someone. It's not the end of the world.
you're only looking at this on a superficial level; what i'm saying is the principle behind who they chose to invite and keep out is fundamentally problematic and should not be accepted. it doesn't matter at all what kind of meeting this was, the amount to which it is a thoroughly poor idea remains the same. defending the administration here tells them that it is okay for them to select favorites in the media and choose what narrative is pushed to the public

Of course you would
Completely discounted the entire point. I wouldn't want all the first hand news coming from The Huffington Post or CNN, either. If every side doesn't have its voice on the stage, we won't get the whole story.

I thought we already established that politifact was garbage

the page on it has a lot more info on it than those 5 lines

And what they say is basically damage control saying "oh he probably had nothing to do with it" and "it could shoot up again at any time". The statement they took was "the National Debt in my first month went down by 12 billion". Not that he has anything to do with it, nor that it will stay that way. "Mostly false" my ass, what he said was correct regardless of how you look at it.

what do you take us for, people that read more than a small excerpt of an article before forming an opinion about the entire website??
