Only fathers would understand

Taking all those migrants was 100% related to politics.
that moment when you're so mentally twisted that you think saving lives is a political decision

communism in practice is a terrible form of government. most communist countries starved millions of people to death and wrote it off as a necessary loss for progress.

sounds like a soviet / imperialist china and japan thing moreso than a communist thing gotta be honest

it seems to me like the faults of maoist china / soviet russia were that they were effectively dictatorships, not that the failure was inherent to communism

i havent really read up on communism enough but i'd probably be at least a socialist if i did :iceCream:

luckily for us our entire economy isn't dependent on a dying fuel source
venezuela has many more abundant natural resources but their economy has gone to stuff for a plethora of reasons relating to socialist reform-

it turns out that when you tax 65% of a person's income away, the individual consumer doesn't have much purchasing power. Shocking, I know.

Cultural and identity death of a country is in my mind a valid threat.

Don't use logic and fact. It's not fair to them.

Cultural and identity death of a country is in my mind a valid threat.

Because somehow taking in immigrants is going to completely destroy culture and personal identity. Maybe this sounds reasonable to you, but stark reality is a lot different and a lot more boring.

remember that time the muslims deleted gorbogapia's entire national history, causing the whole world to forget it ever existed? dark times, my friends.

More Muslim territories have faded into obscurity than they have destroyed if you look at history.

do you have any actual reason to dislike him besides "socialism is scary D:"

uh

yes?

spending money on letting refugees into your country seems like a waste to me; the money could be better spend on improving their country and ending government corruption & creating lasting peace in their home region.

do you have any actual reason to dislike him besides "socialism is scary D:"
Because the man has no idea how to pay for his social programs and just circlejerks about how he would "Tax the 1%!" but taxing the 1% isn't going to create the 18 trillion dollars that would be required to pay for Sanders' social programs for a decade, or about 1.8 trillion dollars per annum on top of the 4 trillion the United States already spends every year.

The man literally is the antithesis of the precedent set by the architects of the constitution; the United States became prosperous on the principle of limited federal government acting mostly as a liaison between the more influential localized state governments. Increased personal freedom and responsibility mostly devoid of government interference is what drove the US economy and allowed individuals to protect the economic and social interests and inalienable rights of themselves, their families, and their neighbors.

Advocating for such a large expansion of federal authority and completely scrapping the principle of allowing states to maintain significant autonomy sets a dangerous precedent that would be nigh irreversible, and that's why people don't like Bernie Sanders. He would change things that would be very hard to undo were those changes to be incredibly disruptive or destructive.

Cultural and identity death of a country is in my mind a valid threat.
now you're walking into white supremacist territory

do you have any actual reason to dislike him besides "socialism is scary D:"

Because the guy is a complete hack.

Lefties complain how Annoying Orange is a stupid populist and how he doesn't know what he's doing, yet you have Sanders who suggests that because we're such a developed country we need to step up to the plate and follow other countries' models (regardless of how they're doing economically) and so we need a forgetton of programs for free stuff. When he gets asked about how he's going to pay for it, he's extremely dodgy and when he isn't he gives inadequate sources that wouldn't even pay for a good percentage of it. When you tally up all the free healthcare and free college and free condoms and free doggos etc. etc. etc. the only way we could possibly pay for all of that would be to invade a resource-rich and overall insanely-rich country like Saudi Arabia or some other place like Dubai and take every loving thing and make money off of it, and even then that would give you like a good couple of years that you could run the programs worry-free.

He's extremely inconsistent; as you saw with the firing of Comey, he had previously called for his resignation for being terrible, and then when Annoying Orange fires him for being terrible, he does a total 180 and attacks Annoying Orange for supposedly getting Comey off his case for Russia. Granted, Comey's firing has ignited a whole web of inconsistency across party platforms, which pisses me the forget off. Still, can't forget that little gem.

Oh, and let's not forget, he champions the 99% and then during a debate attacks a small business owner for not being able to pay for Obamacare. Doesn't help that the guy has three mansions.

doesnt work mate

a poor populace is necessary for society to function

theres little ways around it

there always has to be someone to get the shaft

You're absolutely right. Under socialism and communism, though, everyone gets the shaft and the government wins out.

do you understand how difficult it is to move upwards from the lower class?

There are problems, yes, but it's easier if you don't forget up your own life by doing something irredeemably dumb. Too bad those are part of the problem.

As for the problems, that's the entire essence of politics. We're all trying to solve those problems and make it easier to move up. Some problems have easier solutions while some need a lot more thought, and we all have our own solutions to those problems. When we talk on this topic, we're not attacking each other (hopefully), we're attacking each other's solutions. That's how debate works.

People like Poli, however, look at the problems and assume that the problem is capitalism, so the solution is to rip the whole system apart and try something new. That's despite all the good capitalism has done, considering we rose from nothing and became one of the most developed and powerful countries in the world. That's also despite how many times socialism has been implemented in countries and has failed, ruining the economy/job market, and how it's edgier brother communism ensures that there is NO class movement at all, and basically traps everyone on the bottom rung.

probably should've just made a new post, this is going to be one big bite-za-dusto moment now
