that would be far far worse because we all know they'd demand financial dependence on Canada, so we'd have to literally shovel money into them so they can have nothing more than an added level of bureaucracy and the illusion of independance. Like people have seriously considered this idea but damn it's stupid. If they were to declare themselves their own country they would most definitely be a drain on the Canadian economy as a whole.
