It's convenient though that the whole conservative talking point on the black achievement gap is 'marriage', when you could literally force any drug dealer in the ghetto to get married at gun-point and it would do absolutely nothing to improve their standard of living whatsoever. Whereas if you expunged their bullstuff drug felonies and retroactively gave them a childhood in a neighborhood without violent crime, they probably would live a much steadier life.

In other words, sure, marriage and birthrates are a great statistical bellwether for poverty, but the only reason anyone blames those factors for the racial achievement gap is because it conveniently shifts the blame from the government and racism to black people's choices and morals. Definitely has nothing to do with the fact that our government legally segregated the populations and condoned blatant discrimination in housing and jobs, all less than 70 years ago.

It's literally just sociology. Poverty and governmental oppression are causative factors of violence, crime, and low achievement. This isn't just true for American black people, it's true pretty much everywhere. If anything, that requires much less knowledge about the black experience than claiming it's because they won't get married and don't wanna live the family life.

Again, you could take any person in the ghetto and force them at gunpoint to get married and it would do little to nothing to improve their life.

do you legitimately believe marrying two criminals together will fix their issues with poverty and criminal activity, cause you should explain your reasoning a bit. parroting this data doesn't really prove anything other than black people marry far more infrequently than white, i dont think any of us understand your train of logic connecting marriage with doing better in life.
