But wait a minute, before going into self-defense, why the hell would a country have officers if the citizens are arming themselves for vigilant justice? Don't you guys have police patrolling your cities?

Also the shooter will have adrenaline coursing through their veins, so good luck with the whole disarming business when the person you're disarming is essentially having a caffeine rush.

In the open parts of the country there aren't many police patrolling, mainly because there's a lot of uninhabited land to cover.

In the cities, guns are completely illegal, permit or not.

you can't expect the police to be everywhere in a jiffy. especially in a domestic attack

erm, our police is everywhere in a jiffy

about one cop per block each with a motorcycle or a car

Not like the US is a major rural country with tons of open space.

police are more common in city areas where gun laws are much more stricter than in the more country-ish areas

aka these guys

ain't he country-ish areas and beyond are usually under the sheriff and their deputies' jurisdiction and they're very spread out, so you shouldn't expect too quick of a response a lot of the times you need something

There are no 'blocks' in the open farmland of Hillbilly Haven, Kansas. You can't have a cop patrolling every square mile of land in the entire country

Yes, it's understandable in open country but in cities, this girl shot herself in Michigan.

No but why would people carry firearms in cities? It's understandable to own a weapon in rural areas.

obviously not if there's such a large homicide rate. sounds like you should just carry a gun to defend yourself

Who are you replying to?

Having lots of officers and good police coverage in cities, why would anyone carry firearms? Someone can just throw a fit and open fire over something stupid.

You are an idiot and a pain to even reason with.

Self defense is not the same as vigilantism. Why the forget would i let some guy stab/shoot me? The police aren't there that very moment so what do you do? Let them stab/shoot you?
I'm going to carry a weapon for self defense to prevent a criminal from killing me. I'm going to shoot them, and Im going to make it a kill. A person who tries to harm me out of malice does not deserve to live. I did not kill them for no reason, i killed them to save my own life.

Police take care of the investigation and literally everything else related to crime, just not my self protection in a time when they aren't nearby.

Everything you post is whats relevant in your country Pie crust. The US has a population nearly 8x yours, and we have massive cities. Its 2 different cultures. Stop trying to compare the two like your county is any better.

So I can murder you and claim it was self defense?
That's the way of American police.

Well, California and a lot of the east coast states follow may-issue gun control, which allows police to issue firearm permits to special civilians, but it's super rare.

Any other states have a shall-issue, which means that the state is required to give out gun permits to anyone who wants one, provided they pass the specified rules for age and substance abuse history, criminal record, etc.

Most of the cities in the shall-issue states aren't really 'cities' they're just small metropolitan areas with a lot of civilians. So Michigan isn't really a city, it's just a state with two or three major cities and the other 95% is just corn fields
