Similar specs do not imply that they are the same. You can take two processors that have similar specs, but they will never work with the same code. The actual structure of the data on the disc is what matters.
They both had development done by Panasonic.

Alright, cool. Doesn't mean that they're the same.
Here's an example of your argument:
A dog has 4 legs, is a mammal with a tail.
A mystery animal also has 4 legs, is a mammal with a tail.
Does that mean the mystery animal is a dog? No, because the mystery animal is a cat. You have too little information to jump to a conclusion.

The Vita has outlived the Wii-U. Vita even sells higher than Wii-U.
Outlived, probably, sold higher amounts? No.

I never said it was a blu-ray disc, all I said is that it was a proprietary disc that was based on blu-ray.
Similary the wii didn't use dvds, it had a proprietary disc that was based on dvds.

And you're still going with the "it's based on Blu-ray" from just a couple things being similar
Sure, it's possible, but you're acting like it's a fact. Which is wrong.

While the Wii U discs technically aren't blueray they are pretty damn close http://www.gamefaqs.com/boards/631516-wii-u/65241979?page=3

ZSNO is completely correct. The discs used by the Wii U are not standard blu-ray discs (and I'd argue that they're not built off the blu-ray format). They're not even read in the standard way (the Wii U spins the disc in reverse and there's some additional stuff it does). Because of the copyright protection system Nintendo is employing on the disc, we require the console to dump disc images.

IMO, nintendo should pull the plug on the TV-console market and just make handhelds because they can't make consoles but their handhelds are good.

their only good console ips for nintendo are splatoon and smash bros imo, i really wish they would just turn zelda into a handheld ip rather than a mainly console ip because i really enjoy it and it works better as a handheld imo
