so even though these guys killed a fish that is crucial for the ecosystem and food chain its okay cause they can just go to another lake
it's not okay. that's why it's good that they reported it. in the ridiculous case that that was the last musky in the entire lake, then yes, they could go to another lake.
also its okay because there's apparently a thousand other of that specific fish in that lake (there aren't)

do you really think the guy would have made an apology video on the news and everything if these guys didn't go public with it?
he would have taken his fine and ban and forgeted off without caring, but now since everyone knows hes obviously upset about it
he apologized because he's getting a bunch of pissy emails about him killing a fish, that doesn't mean he actually cares that he did it. if he doesn't do it again, it's because he's worried about the legal issues, not the social issues.
