Author Topic: Anime & Manga Megathread 3.0: "SMF Still Sucks Even After An Upgrade" Edition (Read 199308 times)

SAO had two points that made it stand out from more generic anime to me:
- The "wow" factor of seeing a guy with a normal life get sucked into the virtual world, and how immersive that virtual world is
- Main character actually chose a girl before the end (although the romance is still bland)

I've seen it twice now and the second time it's definitely much worse than the first time watching. It has its moments but overall is still pretty mediocre. And then for some reason it continues after episode 14...

And why is Little Witch Academia so popular? It didn't seem like anything special to me.

i haven't watched any of the anime yet tho, but the short and the movie are both rly nice so i'm defo interested

that's like 75% of the appeal for studio trigger to be honest

not that that's a bad thing. i haven't gotten around to finishing gurren lagann or kill la kill or anything by studio trigger, though. not sure why.

the show feels about the same as the short and the movie so it is good.

Shows can't survive on that alone. Look at Kiznaiver (and non-Trigger anime like Glasslip)
