Starbound's controls pre-2013, combined with the lag it gave and the always-on server, were a nightmare if you did not have a good computer or were mining something big. 4 years later it still has the same problems and lags regardless of your gpu on missions. GG Game.
All of the music is leitmotifed from the day theme. The day theme literally goes into the night theme, the underground theme, and 75% of the themes. Wonder what other game did this? Undertale. Wonder where the leitmotifs are? Literally in every song. EVERY SONG. Leitmotifs are supposed to be hard to notice, and using the same chorus each time is loving lazy. Undertale did it right, FTL did it right, minecraft did it right, but somehow, chuckleforgets pushed a bit too hard to get their ambient sound composer to do something right. The boss music is loving boring and makes me want to kill myself after the 4th boss because I realise it sounds like something from a loving triple A superhero movie. the ones with the really boring fight scenes.
The game is largely unoriginal too. One of the most anticipated races, the gas bags themselves, novakids, were from a mod. Have not heard of it? Can't find it in search results? Thats because starbound themselves never even linked the thread.
Also, starbound took 4 years to get out of alpha. 4 years. Wonder what major issues i had with it? the quests were boring and the progression was stuffty, durasteel to uranium, uranium to plutonium, etc. It was loving boring to see the same boring randomly generated avian temple then, it still is. Wonder what floran party became, the first mission that everyone hated? Floran hunt, now slightly shorter but somehow laggier. Most of the lore was removed, including the part where florans and hylotls were at eachothers necks. What lore does the novakid get after being added in the girrafe updates? loving nothing. they got a few books and that's it.
