No, I'm implying when people don't care enough to use condoms or birth control.
how can you gauge this?

so anyone that says it was accidental gets an abortion right?

everyone would just say its accidental
I'm not a guy for totally banning abortion, I'm just someone who wouldn't abort at all unless under those conditions.

It should totally be allowed, but the husband should definitely have some say in the matter before the baby is aborted.
i think this is something that's been specifically struck down in court

not sure if that's been overturned but i doubt it has

No, I'm implying when people don't care enough to use condoms or birth control. Then they get pregnant and gather sti's. If there was a hole in the condom, I still wouldn't abort, but I would be more lenient.

you will have to be omniscient to enforce this

wait a second are you really under the impression that you are 100% guaranteed to get a pregnancy or a loveually transmitted disease if you don't use a condom?

Please elaborate

>okay you want an abortion right?  was it an accident and not planned?  or you didn’t consent?
>yes it was an accident
>no you're lying because i can hear your thoughts, no abortion for you

I understand that pregnancy is the women's burden no matter what and in many situations it's even life-threatening, but I can also imagine a scenario where the father would be completely capable of raising a baby the mother didn't want, and it would be pretty stuffty in that case to let the baby be aborted anyways.

Please elaborate

The time and effort to get everyone's life story to make sure the baby meets the abortion criteria would be too costly to be something that happens and I guarantee a lot of people would flat out ignore the criteria and continue the procedure because not everyone feels the same way about the topic

Abortion in circumstances where the pregnancy was either involuntary or could pose health risks should not be questioned IMO.

On the other end of the issue, it is going to sound terrible and there is absolutely no other way to phrase it, but if a child is going to be unable to experience the world due to severe disability that is known before birth, I find a larger ethical dilemma in bringing into the world a child that is only living in the literal sense than in termination of pregnancy.

I wasn't literally implying that in order to be allowed to have an abortion, it has to be under these guidelines. I was implying that when people get abortions, they should only go to get one if they got raped or a mistake.

No, I'm saying that when usually a young couple is going to get an abortion, they usually didn't take safety measures.

yeah, i guess in that case the main thing is that you're making a women to go through a pregnancy she doesn't want. i'm sure a lot of people would loosely apply the term "rape" there, which i don't think is entirely accurate, but it's definitely a problem of consent, and i think the woman should take precedence since in pregnancy the woman is kinda getting the raw end of the deal lol

Exactly why I'm a bit conflicted there. It's a really complicated issue with a really simple solution, which is to leave it entirely up to the woman. I feel as though it just isn't right but that's how I feel, I can't really come up with a solution because I don't really have any perspective on childbirth.

Abortion should be an option until the baby is born

Abortion should be an option until the baby is born

why not until it's far gone enough to resemble a human though? like it seems unreasonable for a woman to change her mind a month or two before the due date or something

It should totally be allowed, but the husband should definitely have some say in the matter before the baby is aborted.
I don't think so, man. it's not the husband's body
I mean if they WANT to ask their husband that's great, I'm all for that. but it should absolutely not be a legal requirement. that would not only be awful as heck, but it would provide another way for abusive partners to be abusive, probably far beyond any other level of abuse they could think of on their own
