Ok, real talk. For all you that think racism doesn't exist. I've grown up for most my life correcting my behavior just to fit white people standards. Most things black people did and enjoyed back in highschool was considered ratchet/ghetto when in actuality, its just a different culture. Have you ever went somewhere an had to think "Oh, am I acting to too ghetto." Ever heard of "uing your white voice" when on the phone? Some of you on these forum throw the word monday around like its a piece of candy but don't understand the hatred that that word comes from. I've went to visit my friends college "shes white" and walking down the street yelling monday at me. You may think "oh you get butthurt easily" but you don't know how unsafe it feels when someone judges you negatively for your skin color. In this same town, there a store that sells confederate flags and doesn't allow black people to enter. Being followed around employees around stores is fun especially when having no criminal record.
You say there is no racism butt yet i've been called countless racial slurs on this forums. Yet, no one calls a white person a racial slur. And even if i did, what racial slur would be offensive? Most the memes use on this forums make a mockery of black people as if black people are a joke.
To many time do i hear "you cant change people" or "Oh woe it me, im black" as excuses to make me stop fighting for equal rights.
If you think there's no racism, would you be just as content being born black as being born white?
Racism is been imprinted in the way we think since birth. The real challenge is accepting this fact an trying to change it.
i would love to be treated like a black guy.
a company is forced to hire X amount of black people regardless of qualifications. easy job.
i just have to be the 1 out of 100 black guys that shows up the the interview and dosnt wear sneakers and can enunciate.
how hard could that be.
oh and free college! and not even that hard since all other black people dont even want to use it.
That Affirmative Action law was enacted so black ppl would get hired an to be protected from discrimination meaning that i was really that hard for a black person to get a job. No that there are alot more qualified black people, they are getting held back by this law because they only have to hire a certain amount even if more black ppl o qualify for the job.
Just because someone speaks with a different dialect doesn't mean they are less qualified for the job. Wearing a certain type of shoe doesn't discredit knowledge and credibility. It just not being a conformist.
