You clearly have missed a memo on the actual gameplay for these games.

I played a 5 minute demo of Uncharted 4 at a game conference thing, and I've watched some gameplay online. Same goes for Tomb Raider. Both games have parts where you're running around shooting things, there's puzzle minigames, and the bits that you're referring to are timed and can be failed, meaning that they have challenge.

By the very nature of it, they are games.

Oh you played a 5 minute demo? I beat the entire game and finished the 4 other uncharted games.

As much as I like uncharted it's not a game. Climbing is filler and puzzles in the game is filler. The puzzled are too simplistic to provide any sort of challenge.

1990s tomb raider was 100% gameplay/puzzle entire levels were puzzles.

McJob knows everything. He either watches 5 minute demos or plays games at his college for 5 minutes.

Uncharted 2 whenever I'm climbing and the shot I'm climbing is about to break and it feels like I need to race the clock and jump as soon as possible.

In actuality I could hang on that broken climbing piece forever and it will never break until I jump off it. There is no real challenge or threat. It just mimics a threat because they know no one would pause and go slow after hearing intense music.

In tomb raider 1(original) when the floor starts shaking you have exactly less than 2 seconds to jump off it. It doesn't wait until you take your sweet ass time to break.

That's real gameplay

You wouldn't know this from your 5 minute game demos though.

just stop arguing with him is stupid because he'll just spout more stupid stuff

I'm correct about how obstacles in uncharted are just set pieces, just like many other games.

Your response is telling me I'm Stupid for being right.

I don't think people knows what videogames are anymore.

Originally there was an interesting debate, but now it's just devolved into him straight up, extremely clearly (to the point that even I can see it) trolling so I'm out.

I explained what games are and he continues to ignore my posts. He's done it for not just this entire thread, but any thread I talk to him in. He has selective blindness towards any of my actual arguments, and for that reason I can't continue.

You clearly never read the manual that came with the retail game.

The story in Super Mario is optional to the player.

You have to read a booklet to get familiar with the story.

In game however it's all gameplay, no narrative driven story forced down your throat. No cutscene after cutscene of bullstuff.

I explained what games are and he continues to ignore my posts.

Movie games are not games.

Easy puzzles are not puzzles. Just because games like the new tomb raider has puzzles, it's no challenge when you can spam the "instinct" button.

Also the puzzles in the new tomb raider is just 1 room with some little things you have to move around. Unlike 1990s Tomb Raider where you have to navigate through an entire mazey level.

Cutscene after cutscene is not gameplay.

Button prompt cutscenes are not gameplay.

I'm surprised he hasn't gotten a week-long ban for it, like, ever

There is no rule against double posting, don't know why you are trying to enforce a rule that doesn't exist.

So you ignore my point just to tell me I'm double posting.

There's several unlisted rules because things like that should just be common sense

It's unnecessary to post multiple times in a row when barely any time has passed and you're still the most recent post
