My very third day of college, I'm talking with some folks in the dining hall and No Man's Sky comes up. We all agree that it's a disappointment and has major problems. While we're talking about this, some rando walks by, overhears our conversation, turns 90 degrees and immediately sits down and jumps into a vehement defense of the game and its apparently 'deep and complicated story'. None of us knew who he was, and after we got him to stop talking about it, he gets up and leaves like nothing happened.

So yeah, that's No Man's Sky's target demographic.

The Geks destroyed Korvax's homeworld korvax prime so they are at constant war.

Those orc looking aliens hate the sentinels.

The people in the anomaly are trying to research the universe instead of being caught up in trivial issues.

The korvax are trying to regain control of the one korvax in the anomaly because they don't like how it broke free of their control.

The game's not the biggest disappointment and it's certainly not a steaming pile of stuff. Consensus is that it's worst, it's boring and mediocre. Have you ever gotten bored of a game before? Well jeez, that game must have been complete stuff, and you must've been a goddamn idiot for playing it, right?
