whoops for some reason i thought that color was lavender, my bad

Bombs burst as they fall onto supply dumbs & military structures, with fires raging in the sea from numerous defeated ships of the Greek Navy. The Italian Navy's assets have gained full control of the Saronic Gulf, and now stand, ready to bombard the city with their batteries should the call be made, though keep their fire at hold. On land, the Italian army moves swiftly into Athens their outer defenses soon failing. The Battle of Athens then becomes a battle of urban warfare, and oddly absent of any artillery. The Italian Air Force sees a great use, acting both as recon and ground support, though ground support involves the occasional strategic bombnig of military offenses to avoid damage to that of near-by historical & cultural landmarks.

Forces then advance towards the Hellenic Parliament, fighting through street after the street, and making use of engineer corps. to destroy tank traps and barricades set up by the Greek Army. It isn't long before the Hellenic Parliament then falls into Italian control. Troops storm the Acropolis of Athens under the sky of the setting sun of Greece, facing a fierce uphill battle. After a drawn out moment of rapid gunfire against each other, the last holdout of the Greek Army soon surrenders to Italian troops.

Following the victory in Greece, an immediate change is made to it itself, creating a less-than-sovereign state just like that of the Serbia Administrative Region created in Yugoslavia, the Hellenic State is created in Greece, although, as it is similar to the Serbia Administrative Region, it is still not sovereign enough to be put on a map and is still Italian land.

Amnesty is offered to any Greek soldiers that surrendered peacefully (as none at all would have been executed on official orders, though i can't say how many would be shot otherwise) to be incorporated into Infantry Divisions alongside the powerful and growing Italian Army.

the us military continues to scale up, but it begins to shift its focus on naval supersizing and the training of superior marine infantry

After years of being in production, and having been laid down, the first-ever Verona class battleship Vittorio Emanuele III, modeled in some inspiration of the IJN's own Yamato, is launched from the harbors of Roma. It begins to undergo numerous sea trials & initial operations. Due to Blue Meanie's wishes to keep the organization and structure of the Italian Navy upheld, the RM Vittorio Emanuele III is assigned to the main ocean-going component of the Italian Navy, the Combined Fleet, lead under Vice Admiral Tsawa Rayako, a Japanese immigrant who had made their way to Italy during the Interwar period with a fair amount of naval experience.

The Tsardom of Bulgaria, Blue Meanie knowing of their Fascist tendencies, is sent a military alliance. Romania is also sent an alliance request, along with the offers of diplomatic meetings. Though, these are requests for alliances and not invitations to Fascintern.

More and more infantry are created, and even more conscripts are made as well. A large bulk of the units in the north-east goes to the west to secure the border on Poland and such. The Finnish troops remain.

Japan, with its current stock of 56 tech points (yay for being two weeks late), researches all the things up to 1939, and begins refitting its Kongou-class battlecruisers, accelerates construction on the two Yamato-class battleships, and begins construction of several classes of cruisers, destroyers, and other smaller (but still important) vessels in response to the supersizing of the US navy. Japan also begins beefing up its infantry and armor, and starts constructing larger coastal batteries on each of its territories, using guns intended for the Amagi-class battlecruisers.

Xibei San Ma refuses the ultimatum.

unfortunate

Mongolia, in a attempt to reach in with the enormous amount of power the fascist are gaining and represent the communist's two cents, declares ware on Xibei. 10 infantry divisions are sent in accompanied by 10 armored divisions, as well as 4 mountaineer divisions.

Most forces are concentrated amongst the central lands of Haixi, but the runner-ups are down in the lesser developed zones (mainly the mountaineers.)

add sinkiang to the comintern thx ;)

The following post the US makes is confirmed by me.

A UNITED FRONT!

The United States officially declares its support for Chinese - primarily true Chinese, but also communist Chinese- efforts to stave off the Japanese invaders.
A declaration of war is made upon Japan, as the United States hereby joins the united front.
Through diplomacy, Mongolia has agreed to do so in similar fashion, albeit moreso for the support of communist China.
It is in the best interests of all Chinese factions or benefactors- both warlords and legitimate governments- to cease infighting and to take up arms against Japan.
Differences are set aside with these Asian communists due to the greater threat of the rising sun.

The American navy begins running interception on Japanese supply lines through conventional fleets and submarine attacks alike.
Aircraft, to the best of their ability, attempt to secure air superiority.
If superiority is won in a region, tactical bombing soon follows through tactical bombers, dive bombers, and heavy fighter aircraft.
The U.S. army begins deploying en masse to the Republic of China, their intent being to move north to support efforts in liberating Manchuria and Korea.
Their naval convoys are escorted, of course.

The United States now considers itself to be in a state of war unlike the more one sided conflicts it was recently in, such as the support of nationalist Spain, and the quelling of Canadian rebellion.
As such, yellow journalism and general propaganda skyrocket.
They focus on the brutality of the imperial Japanese regime, and the twisted, fanatical honor system in Japanese warrior culture.

Onward!

Summer of 1939, Mongolian-Manchurian border

Anandyn Amar officiates the Mongolian declaration of support for the Republic of China, in hopes that knots can be untied with the democratic and fascist nations, and the Japanese forces fought back to prevent the triple threat.
He attempts to reassure his communist partners this is a softening of bad relations.
Meanwhile, in Eastern Mongolia, 17,000 infantry, 7 fighter planes, 2 bombers, and 9 tanks make their way into Manchuria.

Also, the war with Xeibi is not over yet, ho ho.

With the desire for expansion still filling their hearts, the call to war sounds again. After months of reorganization, Italian armies in the Balkans go on the move for their final conquest. Infantry Divisions storm Thrace, along with motorized divisions, assisted by light armor brigades, and the first use of medium armor brigades. Istanbul is the target of the offense, with Ankara being the ending point of the offense. Naval Transports and other naval assets are made use of, invading western Anatolia from Greek Naval Bases. The Italian Navy is made use of, securing the escort of the transports.

Romania & Bulgaria, Italy's fresh allies, are called to arms.

Stalin makes a telegram for Mongolia.
The telegram orders that the Mongolian invasion force is ceased, and all operations to take over said country will cease as well.
Failure to comply will result in the termination of membership in the Union, and possible annexation of the Soviet Union

Japan, being somewhat scared of American production, declares war on the United States and continues to ramp up their own production, mobilizing almost everything, and they begin a blitzkrieg campaign throughout China to Nanjing. They mobilize some of their naval forces to patrol and try to blockade American holdings in the Philippines, foreshadowing a potential invasion. The Yamato-class battleships, Yamato and Musashi, are launched and completed a year earlier than planned, and deployed with the rest of the naval forces to the Philippines. A combined fleet is deployed to the south of Taiwan, consisting of several destroyers, minelayers, and support ships; eight light cruisers and six heavy cruisers; two Kongou-class battleships, and two Nagato-class battleships; and the only Hiryu-class aircraft carrier. Other refitted older ships, with support fleets, are sent to attempt to take holdings in the Pacific from the United States. Aircraft carriers Shoryuu and Ryuujou are sent with this fleet.
