Author Topic: Oklahoma Food Company recalls over 372,000 lbs of Hot Dogs & Corn Dogs  (Read 15310 times)

I posted multiple sources, and this is common knowledge. I'm not here to do research for you, dude.
Quote where you posted a source that shows that veganism is healthier than non-veganism 99% of the time

I'm not here to do research for you, dude.

No, but you are here to back up your outrageous claims. Everyone here was led to believe differently and we're not going to immediately drop our knowledge of dietary habits to go along with your claims. Long story short, post citation or forget off

Also, a list of the highest-fat foods:

Being vegan will definitely make most people lose weight.
as much as you're right in one way or another, these examples are literally only fat
assuming you're using this list, an example of a high-fat food that isn't either oil, lard, or shortening doesn't show up until page three

the first thing that you could actually eat that shows up under high-fat foods is item #130, salt pork, which has been cured to use as a non-perishable concentrated source of energy during winter months. The next non-condiment non-oil on the list is item #139, dry pilinuts.

Also, unless you consult a dietician and/or know what you're doing, suddenly becoming vegan would be incredibly unhealthy, considering you're literally denying yourself about half of the food pyramid

< this entire thread >
Jesus loving Christ, it's a food recall
Did you really have to start pages and pages of arguments because you wanted to be obnoxiously smug about being vegetarian, in a thread that is not remotely related?
"How do you know if someone is vegan? They'll loving tell you" has never been more true.

We only ever get Hebrew National and I don't eat hot dogs that often, so I'm fine.

"How do you know if someone is vegan? They'll loving tell you"
Yea, just like a Buddhist will probably mention it when they can't eat cow. Of course someone is going to talk about a major part of their life. Especially because this usually comes up over dinner, when I have to tell someone that I can't eat certain foods.

Most people start by cutting their meat intake, then going to vegetarianism, then cutting dairy intake, then going to veganism. I don't know anyone who's ever just decided to cold-turkey never eat animals again from a normal diet.

Yes, that's fine, except it's not remotely relevant in this thread. You didn't need to post. You didn't need to let us know that this wouldn't affect you if you're vegetarian. And you KNEW it was going to provoke a response.

There's a difference between politely asking at a restaurant "what are your vegan options?" and barging into this thread smugly going "another reason to go vegetarian ;)" I don't care if you're vegetarian or vegan, and I won't judge you, but that's the entire point - I don't care if you're vegetarian or vegan, and you shouldn't judge the vast majority of people because they eat meat. All these problems are solved by simply not mentioning veganism when it's not relevant.

I'm 100% convinced he doesn't have any now. Although I can't say I've ever met an informed vegan  :cookieMonster:

You can dodge the point all you want, but the reality is that almost everyone who goes vegan will lose weight.

This is common knowledge, but here are some sources anyway:

Veganism is not something that has to be hidden, dude. If someone wants to talk about their diet, don't lose your stuff. Half or more of every post on this entire forum are unrelated to the OP, but nobody cares. They lose their stuff when someone mentions their vegan or vegetarian because some people get insecure around someone with a different diet. I barely EVER mentioned I'm a vegan, I've done it in maybe 3-4 topics in my history here, and every time people have gone nuts. So "Don't worry, they'll tell you" is really pretty inaccurate. "They told me once, a few months ago, about a major part of their life," is.

Religion is a major part of Planr's life. People shouldn't go nuts when he brings it up in topics, but so often they do.

I'm not telling you to hide it like a secret. I'm telling you not to mention it when it's not relevant. I wouldn't show up in random threads promoting socialism, and you shouldn't show up in random threads promoting veganism. People are losing their stuff because you're being a richard about it.

I rarely see Planr post about religion when it's not relevant, and when he does post, he does it politely. Not "another reason to become a christian ;)." He actually discusses it, not try to loving convert us.

I just want to say I've lost weight eating an omnivorous diet with plenty of meat used for protein.

Planr brings up religion far more than I bring up my diet. Nobody would've cared if I had written something like that that was equally dismissive. "Another reason hot dogs are gross ;)" wouldn't have gotten nearly the same response.

I just want to say I've lost weight eating an omnivorous diet with plenty of meat used for protein.
You can lose weight on any diet, Veganism is just one of the very best. A lot (probably most) long term vegans are in it for moral reasons though.

You can dodge the point all you want, but the reality is that almost everyone who goes vegan will lose weight.
I'm sure the only reason you keep trying to take the argument back to weight loss is because you can't actually support this claim:
It's healthier in 99% of cases. Happy?

Planr brings up religion far more than I bring up my diet.
I modified my post before you replied, and you completely ignored the bulk of what I was saying. "Another reason to become a vegetarian ;)" is smug, and there's no way you can deny that. It's also blatantly trying to convert people, and there's no way you can deny that. Both of those things are things Planr doesn't do.

If it's going to become a moron-measuring contest I think Planr still takes the crown.

It's not trying to convert people, it was one of 30+ posts that day quickly written in jest. I don't have to sit here and defend a snarky comment like it's my mission statement or something.
