the most important part about highschool is finding a sense of belonging. this doesn't necessarily mean join a club or a sport but even having a group of friends that you can hang out with and aren't complete starfishs to you can be a big help to your experience. try to make friends or at least acquaintances in every class.
high school parties and drugs are completely unnecessary. i'm not saying you shouldn't go to parties, but just that it might be a little early and that those opportunities will grow exponentially and will be much less consequential (besides the drugs, and well the drinking age is still 21...) during college.
don't ask me about classes, i'm not that guy. just take the ones you want to and get it over with. the best thing you can do is find what you want to do for the rest of your life, but always remember that you can always change your mind, and even if you're very good at it won't mean that you will want to do it for the rest of your life.
don't be a depressed forget. if you do get struck with depression, there's a lot of ways to get through it with the help of your staff (guidance counselor, teachers, nurse, etc.) (that is if your school doesn't suck forget). highschool isn't the time to look forward with horror, but to be in the moment with joy. it's not always going to be easy but these moments are the shortest so enjoy them the most.
that's my rant as a recent highschool graduate
