Author Topic: Can I shoot someone with blank rounds?  (Read 4679 times)

blanks arent lethal unless its absolutely point blank
then it'll be lethal

Better to be bored than dead
What if you're bored to death????

If you're at ≈30', then you're probably fine.  Blanks are used on movie sets where the crews are safely situated sometimes at shorter than those distances.  You'll definitely be fine at 30'.  I'm no expert, but I might say that even 12' is fairly safe.  I wouldn't recommend aiming for the eyes or face, though.

If you have multiple alleged blanks, and you want to feel safe, try firing them at the ground or at soft targets from a distance or no one is around.

I am not sure if this is relevant or not, but you might want to search the internet for any possible licensure are permits that you need in order to fire blanks off in your state or province, even for filmmaking purposes.

or you could record the noise from the shot sometime else and edit in the sound in the recording spot????
it's absolute laziness if you'd rather take a lethal risk than some forgetin video editing lol

Actual gunfire doesn't record onto video very well.  The sound gets clipped into a short pop and the muzzle flash barely shows up.  When normies see video of actual gunfire they don't even understand what's happening because it's so boring looking.  You'll get better results from special effects https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=SsViAvVYoMQ

I've went to a cool western themed summer camp before and during a cool action scene they did out in the "town" and they shot each other with blank rounds. They were at a decent distance apart and you could tell that they were shooting off-target as well ( shooting just slightly to the left or righ t)

You can "shoot" someone with blank rounds, just use some very soft tissue paper for the wads in the casing, and be sure to shoot just slightly off target ( like a foot or more ) to prevent any accidents

That and make damn sure that the casing you have has ZERO particles inside of it ( Aside from gunpowder and the small wad ) to help prevent any accidents.

Well since youre not a black male in America, you don't have to worry about a cop mistaking you for a dangerous criminal so go ahead.
why would you come back when nobody on this site likes you

Ignoring how stupid it is to point a real gun at somebody, do you know how loud a gun is? Even a small round like a 380 is going to make everyone stuff themselves if you're in a closed space like a theatre.

for some reason I thought this was for a play idk why. anyway: don't. Your buddy could end up with a piece of shrapnel in his skin and you're not going to get any recoil with a blank anyway.

its gonna be a pistol not a rifle. It'll look totally different

Also guys im pretty sure if my stuff iPhone 3G can pickup sounds of gunfire then I can get somewhat good results with a new camera
Don't need the gunfire to sound like Battlefield 4
Its really difficult to do this with just acting and editing, also I think it sounds pretty decent
