Author Topic: who's gettin civ 6??  (Read 11946 times)

Honestly I really hate the cartoony style and the new UI, along with the unit portraits

I'm not a fan of the art style either, but I'll probably pick it up. It seems pretty complete even without DLC, so I'm interested to see how Firaxis build on it.

the biggest thing i'm anticipating is hearing absolutely anything about modding. if mods work in multiplayer and can do all the kinds of things that expansions in civ 5 could do, then that is the most fantastic thing i could imagine, because modding communities can figure out insane stuff over time and make some really neat stuff

i liked the civ v art style more, but this type is nothing new. goofier animation used to be a trait of civilization games

new video on russia, i might list all the leader videos when i get some more time

i added all the revealed leaders so far to the OP

russia i'm sold give me my territory

It looks cool, but if it follows the Firaxis DLC model (make a decent game, then release the DLC to fully flesh it out) then I'll probably wait for that DLC.

If they've managed to de-lobotomize the AI, I miiiight get it on release if I know other people who are getting it.
All the stuff that came to Civ5 in expansions (late game government focus, religion, etc.) are going to be in the base game of Civ6.

I'd honestly only buy it for maybe like $30 just because I admire Firaxis, but even then I'm iffy.  I'd love to hear about any news on Workshop support because I'm sure people are aching to replace textures for this cartoon.

GOD that voiceoverer is hot you can tell she's forgetin HOT

They never use the best germany leader for germany in Civilization games. Its Riddler obviously.

yeah i'm sure it probably will have workshop support since they already did that for civ v and they made a point to talk about modding briefly.

The team have already teased the potential for modding with this new engine. Can you talk about that in any more detail?

We are going to be talking in more detail about modding further down the road. We haven't announced when we're releasing our tools, it'll probably be soon after release. A lot of the tools will be similar to what we had in Civ V. [Even] if you're a highly skilled modder, it was extremely difficult to work on leaders, and our elite units in the game, so we're paying special focus to that. We are bringing mods to multiplayer as well. As usual, a big emphasis on modding.

hope we hear more within the next week or so
