Author Topic: who's gettin civ 6??  (Read 12375 times)

thinking of getting this actually, is it like civ 5 where you need all the dlc to actually enjoy it?
nope, the vanilla game definitely feels complete so far. still waiting to hear more about mods, i'm hoping they make good on their promises

the menu looks very placeholder-y compared to earlier games if you ask me
it's neater in game when you can see the ui animation and stuff, but ya i see what you mean

I really wish the map and unit stuff switched sides to be where they were last game
Also there's no Earth map in the base game which is super weird

I LOVE the new menu, along with the theme

found this article about mods which has some good news though it's nothing official, just inference from people poking around in files

So what's your guys' consensus?  I've read here and there it's mostly Civ5 with a more confusing layout and districts.

i just noticed: no giant death robots

definitely better than civ 5. the districts are more interesting than civ 5 cities, and need to be laid out strategically. you get used to the different layout after about 10 minutes. AI is better about warmongering, but still not perfect. each leader's traits makes it harder to get along with everyone which is good.

i recommend. once mods come out, it's going to be far, far superior to civ 5
