Author Topic: Nintendo Switch Presentation - January 12th  (Read 194976 times)

Just remember that Poli is talking stuff via subjective opinions, not based on the fact that physical materials cost much more to develop the new tech, and Nintendo isn't in a position to give away free games permanently on the Switch because the Switch will not have a giant library to give away yet, unless you count in the Virtual Console which I don't really think should count.

If you can't stop bitching about the price, forget off and wait a couple months for the End of Financial Year sales or the Christmas Rush. This is launch; everything is going to be at a premium, especially for hot items.

Nailed it right on the head

Funny how literaly every console did that at launch being more expensive at the begining and the Switch is the one taking the most stuff about it

and the Switch is the one taking the most stuff about it
Manchildren hold Nintendo in a different regard to the rest of the manufacturers and think that they're some kind of God-like company that need not worry about taxation or employee salaries or anything else that would cause their services to get more expensive.

Yes, that is a 100% exactly accurate re-creation of New York City, but what about it?

Levels a lot smaller then my first impression of it. Don't know how I didn't see the outer limits before.

We got Marios and Luigis out the wazoo, so it's still accurate

To be fair, that set piece was mostly shown off at very specific angles, and that building jump may not have been one of the best ones, but it was such a short clip that Nintendo probably figured it wouldn't matter since most people would just be in awe of the detail, the graphics, Mario committing Self Delete off of a building, etc

Yeah most of the clips in that trailer are 1-2 seconds long, doesn't give you enough time to observe how big the levels are or the scope of the game.

The game is nearly a whole year from being done. Do you REALLY expect the maps and everything to be 100% done and there???

it took them 7 months to remove fog from zelda :(

If I'm unmistaken, most Super Mario games rely on a large number of small levels, each with their own unique challenge to learn and master by level end. We're also seeing that shot from an angle which hides what's behind the camera, so it's entire possible there's another big chunk of the city over there.

For forgets sake insert were having a conversation. Do you really have to hop on Nintendos richard everytime we talk about something? It's not like I'm saying the levels are TOO small or that small is even a bad thing, my original impression was that the levels were MASSIVE.

No stuff the games not finished, you can tell when the civilians 20 feet away only have 6 frames of animation. However the levels are more than likely going to stay the exact same size. The levels in the other scenes look about the same size and it's a 3d mario game like 64 and sunshine so the levels are going to be small.

If you look on the right side of the screenshot you can see another crane. That probably leads to another part of the level
