it's definitely not a bad thing
sm64 and sms had small levels, but they were packed full of things to explore. keeps the levels interesting without the struggle of getting lost or unfamiliar with the area when revisiting.

Super Mario 64 really did get grating after a while. Theres only so many times that I can go back to the same level with the same layout with a slightly different objective. To be fair it's not like they had a lot of storage to work with. Sunshine I felt similar about but it was more about how all the levels had the same basic theme (never completed Sunshine though).

what exactly is going to stop the switch from flopping like the wii u?

sure it has a few games coming out for it already, but does that necessarily imply that games are going to continually come out for it? i don't know if any 3rd party developers are coming to the switch.

thats one thing im concerned about the switch, yeah. all the extra optimizations required and support for different controller settings (which will probably be enforced by nintendo to ensure there are games that support single/double joycons to not defeat the purpose of them) will probably turn off smaller developers, and for AAA investment it will take a lot of sales to convince them to invest in the console

Also no more region locking, I'm surprised barely anyone is talking about this.

Why does that matter unless you're some kind of weeaboo. The only way I could see that working is with titles that are for a certain place in the world. That being said, you probably wouldn't understand it anyways.

you have no idea how wrong you are

It matters because there are countries out there which does not have the Nintendo official support (Mine for example, I live in Brazil) So I could buy it from the internet without being worried about locked games.

Or, if you bring the switch with you while traveling, you can buy games from the country you're in, it's a great thing they got rid of the region lock.

it matters a ton
  • buy games from anywhere in the world. if you're in japan and want to buy a game but your switch is from the US, you dont gotta sit down and cry. take the switch anywhere right? why not japan?
  • if a game runs out in one area you can order one online from another place
  • some games release months, even years earlier in japan compared to other parts of the world. you could get the grabs on it early.
  • or as an extension to point #3, buy a game that WONT come out in your region and you wont have to waste money on a console of a specific region to play it

so yes people who travel a lot and go the extra mile for their games will love no region locks

That being said, you probably wouldn't understand it anyways.
um language settings??

Dont forget, sometimes games in one country will have a load of bugs and the same game will have them all fixed, so a no region lock will help cancel that

i don't know if any 3rd party developers are coming to the switch.
why do people keep saying this
do you guys not read anything at all?
like, all you have to google is "switch third party"

This man has opened my eyes.
I've changed my mind guys, I'm not buying the switch. I'm gonna buy a 1000 dollar computer / computer component to emulate this game at a stuffty framerate. Seriously, 300 dollars is way too overpriced. But I'll happily spend 1000 just to emulate it. Haha, screw you Nintendo, I'm not buying your trash. Just gonna emulate it so you go bankrupt faster. If you haven't gotten it through your thick skulls, I'm gonna emulate it, Nintendo. forget you Nintendo.

you

you cant just emulate whatever games you want people have to make complex emulation software first
