The Japanese have a different culture around multiplayer; to them, it's about playing with (and only with) people you know personally, hence the idea of friend codes which you can distribute to your real-life friends and play with them when you're at home. Our culture is more open to the idea of playing with people you've never met before.

This is why the Friend Code system sucked for us, but I doubt it'll change much as Nintendo is very strong-willed about their Japanese culture and history.

Only BotW. From what I've heard, Mario Kart 8 will run at 60FPS (except in splitscreen), and Splatoon 2 & 1-2-Switch were observably running at 60FPS during their demos.

I just hope their online subscription is actually worth it and that you're not paying for lag and button delays, because so far, that's all their online play has been with the Wii and the Wii U (from what i've heard)
I played monster hunter tri online on the Wii and Monster hunter 3U online on the WiiU, most of the time it was fine

I remember Brawl having horrible button delays, i don't think i tried out any other Wii games online though, my experience with playing Brawl online left a bad taste in my mouth

would you rather have
720p 60fps
or
900p 30fps

900p 30fps
depends on the screen size

if i'm playing on a 150ft 800k superforget hd tv then i'd go for 900p@30 and then cough and watch for which pixel it hits first

Splatoon 2, MK8 Deluxe, Arms, and Fast RMX come to mind as 60fps games on the Switch though there might be more that I'm missing.

Brawl was definitely the worst of it when it came to online otherwise everything else was alright in comparison, because Excitebots has some p sick online.

didn't brawl use peer-to-peer over dedicated servers? i remember the match would cut out if the "host" left

i didn't want to say anything because i was only like egg% sure at best but i think this is right yeah, or smth like that. i don't think nintendo hosted servers for much more than matchmaking and all that Biznu. could defo be wrong tho
