i believe the wii u failed because it was released at a bad time. the ps4 and xbox one was going to be released very shortly, and the wii u was made to compete against the xbox 360 and the ps3 (the wii u is only slightly stronger than the xbox 360). third party developers wanted the newest and most hyped consoles to market with
