BRING IT ON, OLD MAN. BRING IT ON!!

I really don't like how this place tends to bring out the worst in people. I see some fine qualities in some of you guys, though.

I don't like how this place tends to bring out the worst in humanity

Why is the topic name so ambiguous??? Was that necessary?
I feel like theres a topic like this a couple times a year every year for the past decade at least. It's just the nature of this forum to be aggressive and dramatic and uncomfortably personal. Like people aren't stupid, they realize what theyre saying affects another human but they don't loving care which is probably why they spend so much time on an online forum and take everything super seriously.

i feel like this is not the problem at all. we all can take a hit thats why we are still here. its more about the fact that the place has gotten stufftier over time. there used to be really good days here, i met incredible people, but sadly i feel like the BLf. has blown over, just like those people i met. (god bless the clique, the art clique, and both my exes)

the only thing i and a lot of people do now is dance the line of being bannable, some more than others, (you know who im talking about). this is how some of my friends got banned, and honestly its tthe only thing still fun on the forum. meeting new and cool people is not a thing anymore. i simply know all of you already and have spoken to you at least once or twice if we havent hung out outside the forum and spoke as much as we could pull out of a conversation already . not to mention ive been here for 4 years now and hey thats a big part of my puberty. this forum has been extremely significant for my life, it and the people on it really made me as a person, and im super thankful, but yeah i do think i, personally have squeezed all the juice out of this mfer

srry for like the rambling but ive been wanting to talk about this for a while and im on mobile sadly 😪

I try to do this but it just seems like I end up abstaining from every conversation I might want to contribute to because I can't figure out how to form my argument without looking like a jerk in some way. To me it seems like whenever I write an argument it feels like I'm being too blunt and that I could write it better somehow, but I don't want to put in the effort so I just delete it. Maybe I'm just too much of a pushover.

I agree with this post, but I think the title is too ambiguous.

the presidential elections turned the forums into a much more nasty place
some people cant go 2 posts without bringing politics into it
To me it seems it's always been like this, or at least it has been since i joined.
now picture this
if theyre this bad online...imagine them in real life
Most of them are probably a lot nicer in real life than they are on the internet.

we should listen to hodot because he "objectively deserves" to be considered one of the best users so We objectively deserve to listen to him every time he comes in and gives us his hippie advice

this is reflective of the growing hostility and enforcement of strict social rules on the internet as a whole; no place is safe. with the growing popularity of "Cringe Compilations" and trolling videos the framework for what makes you liable for bullying is clearly laid out every day, and nobody dares oppose this lest they be labled as "cringe." i for one hope for a complete reversion of internet culture to the golden era of low production value halo easter egg videos with papa roach in the background. we have pushed our limits for too long and created a bastardization of the internet for what it was. though becoming an extension of society itself is inevitable, the fact remains that everyone had a much better time setting aside our differences in exchange for watching funny hamster dance videos. the current culture of personal attacks in an incredobly public space is only accepted because we do not realize how unacceptable it would be in person. we need a reminder of what is acceptable and what was intended for us, and more importantly we need to resist the trend we are heading towards.
