Author Topic: 300 US Marines vs 60000 Romans  (Read 6264 times)

The shouting though.
AAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAA

By the video alone I think the marines would have eviscerated each other with friendly fire.

600 romans could beat the marines if their shields worked and the marines had to reload

Nah.

-the shields do nothing.

Hate to break it to you but bullets go through wood

A few people have said this by now, yes.

according to Sun Tzu size comes in numbers, not weaponery

300 marines even with machine guns wouldn't be enough to take down 60,000 romans. first, they'd be way too intimidated by the sheer size of the roman army, which would obviously cause panic and morale to deteriorate instantly. second, the amount of bullets required to sustain 300 marines continuously firing on that many romans would cost millions of dollars and isn't even realistic in a military sense.

Most assault rifles would only be effective at around 100 meters and by that time, the romans can easily charge and close that distance enough to charge the marines. Once the romans are within 20 meters then the marines are essentially defenseless anyways and would probably run

300 marines can probably hold their ground against an army 3x their size if they were stationery, but if you gave them horses for example, they'd probably be able to fight against an army 20x their size

scuse me

>5.56
>carbine length rifle
>"only effective at 100 meters"

The end of the video should've said: "Thank you for listening to my presentation".

cause slideshow framerate

if 1 shot = 1 kill every time, without missing. in theory they could do this with the amount of ammo they could still realistically carry.

Just adding reloads with a little timing randomization would make this much more interesting.

Shields should at least slow down the bullets, it seems like they almost pierce right through multiple people easily. Plus dead Romans should be able to absorb some bullets.
Then we revamp the game with voxel graphics and turn it into a rogue-like

marines have held out when odds have been against them. they'd easily be able to take out enemies with sheer range in mind. ammunition costs aren't really that high and could easily be airdropped (in which case i would assume they'd also be calling in airstrikes and such since the romans have no anti air capabilities)

the standard range for infantry to engage at is 300 meters and max effective range with full length assault rifles like m16s is 800 meters. even then marines have mortars and machine guns which could easily destroy the romans, as well as air support and even armored vehicles

I feel like if you're counting air support or armor, then it isn't really just the 300 marines anymore.
