Amanda inserts the drive, hoping there is still power in the mainframe.

"Alright, this way."

Norum walks through the foyer in to a hallway which stretches left to right. He turns left, walking halfway down the length of the hall, turns right into a stairwell, and begins walking up to the second floor.  He then exits the stairwell, turning right, slowing down to read the dingy signs on the doors to his left... 219... 217... 215... "213. We're here."

Norum slams his fist repeatedly against the door, "Hey bitchface, open up the damn door!"

You hear a muffled distraught yell from the other side of the door.

Ryde also follows Norum down the hall, keeping a close eye behind them through reflective surfaces, or just by turning his head. Once they reach the door, Ryde is startled a little by Norum's loud knocking. He briefly looks to Norum before shifting his glance down the halls to see if there is anything unusual.

Ryde briefly zips down a section of his jacket, quickly shoving his hand in once its open. He then quickly grips the pistol and flicks the safety off. He then tucks his hand back out of his jacket, quickly zipping the jacket back up.

There's no one in this wing but the three of you.

After chiding Ryde, you bang the door again. You can make out the words "forget, stop," from the other side.

Ryde nods to Norum, taking a quick few glances to the hallways to his side. He then quickly flicks the safety off his pistol.

You come within an ass hair of shooting yourself in the foot. Maybe it's better if you stop playing with your gun.

Dan opens the door, and the three of you are assaulted with a wave of smoke. Dan is a Anglo Saxon man of average height, wearing shirt with a heavily worn and bleached Vogelstamphen brand liquor decal. His hair is dirty reddish-blond, shoulder length, and unkempt. He has a goatee that hasn't been kept up in a couple weeks. The rest of his attire is worn and unsightly, including a cigarette burned bath robe and stained plad pajama bottoms. His socks are off white and have holes. The glimpse into his apartment reveals darkened cheap carpet, a stain and a hole in the wall, a bright overhead light without a cover, and a worn, torn, and stained reclining chair.

The man looks paranoid, and his eyes are red. He points to the group, his hand is twitchy, his nails are yellowed, and his finger tips are blackened with ash.

"Why the forget are you wearing that for? And who are these loving people?" he says, in a distraught voice.

He stares at Norum, looking for answers, glancing at Daniel and Ryde then returning his gaze to Norum.

Amanda inserts the drive, hoping there is still power in the mainframe.

Nothing happens. Nothing at all, and you stand in the room for thirty seconds in silence. Elena breaks the silence.

"I'm seeing that apparently the RAT is working. Thanks a bunch!" She chirps in your ear.

Daniel furrows his brow at the question, its wording and its subject.  What exactly was off-putting about Norum's attire?  Not important, he thought to himself, best keep my mouth shut and let Norum answer that.  Daniel continued to keep watch on either end of the hallway, shifting his weight onto his right leg.

"I usually wear a coat when I'm snooping; you should know that, but we got some other business," Norum says, stepping forward, pointing his index finger firmly into the man's chest, continuing forward. "The bluebirds were the least of our problems. This guy here," he says throwing a thumb back at Daniel, still out in the hallway, "found a goddamn bomb in there! Before that, nothing but blood and bullet casings. Not a body to speak of. Quiet."

Daniel speaks up this time, "Hey, hey -- maybe we should keep it... y'know, ixnay on the illegalyay," he said in a slightly hushed tone.

Norum exhales gruffly. "Yeah–right."

Norum eyes the bottle in Dan's hand for a brief moment before his eyes meet the lanky man's in the doorway, this time with a more relaxed gaze. He returns to a normal standing position. "Look.  Dan...  I'm not doing any more of these scrap jobs again. Your bitch ass better check to see if it's legit before you put us in harm's way."

Daniel goes back to keeping watch while Norum handles the hustle.

Ryde lets out a quaky sigh as he almost shoots himself, making a mental note not to play with his gun.

Ryde looks at Dan with a slightly upturned lip as his image registers. He clears his throat as the smoke wafts out of the room and into his nostrils like a wave of bricks.

A little bored with looking about the halls, Ryde starts paying attention to the conversation between Dan and Norum.

There's nothing and nobody in this stretch of the hall.

"I usually wear a coat when I'm snooping; you should know that, but we got some other business," Norum says, stepping forward, pointing his index finger firmly into the man's chest, continuing forward. Dan takes a step back. He's twitching some, living up to his name.

"Look bud, my plug told me a month back that business might slow up. I got my forgetin' ass to cover with my people with this stuff. I needed another load three days ago, left my plug a message but nothin'! For three days! I ran out this morning. I needed to know what the forget was going on with my supply before my people turned elsewhere or hit me with a brick. If I'da known someone forgeted up my guys I wouldn't have asked you to go lookin'. Why would I send you somewhere dangerous?"

He pears nervously into the halls, takes a lighter out of his pocket and fidgets with it in jerky motions.

"You need to get out of here before some people try to start some stuff since you all look like you came from Salus-,"

Dan bites his tongue for a moment.

"forget, how much did I promise you?" he asks, sounding disgraced.

Norum seems to relax a bit as Dan starts explaining, but as he peers out into the hall, he realizes that it would be pertinent to make it short. "Hey uh, gimme your boss's number. I'll give him a call later and let him know what happened. And uuhhh..." Norum flips out his phone and scrolls through hundreds of panicked messages by Dan, his thumb stopping the fast scrolling to find the exact spot. "7 thousand gross, but–" Norum exhales, eyes facing the ceiling as he tucks his phone back into his pocket. "I think that we need at least 3 thousand per head here."

With nothing else to do, Ryde look about the halls.

Dan grimaces.

"Okay, okay. I'll see what I can do,"

New missions coming soon tm

Norum receives the number for Dan's boss on a piece of paper as well as payment in the form of cash. "Thank you, Dan... I'll be sure to put in a word about this." Dan closes his door and Norum begins to walk with the other two in tow. Marco Villacrés, huh? It's been what? 6 months without incident now? I can't believe how much I've saved Dan's ass... Norum turns to make his way down the stairs, stepping down each one at a casual rate. stuff I'm tired. What time is i– Checking his watch, he realizes that most of the night has gone away.

They exit the building, landing them a few blocks away from the station. "Any of you life in East Hanley or around here?"

Norum looks around to see if no one is there before distributing the money about–three $1,000 note bills for each of them.

Daniel quickly and slyly tucks the bills, then jerks his head back in reply, "Pig Iron," he said.
